Has anyone knocked out the guts on the 4 Cats on their Stock H-pipe. I have heard that you can knock the stuff out with a metal rod and a hammer. I need the stock pipes to remain on the car for visual annual inspections.

Has anyone done this? Any performance gains? Problems? Suggestions? Increased sound?

Thanks in advance,

ya, u could either take the pipe off and like u said stick a metal pipe in there to knock it all out, or u can cut them off and knock ot all ou then just re-weld them back on, either way works.

I live in CA. I cut my cats out and replaced them with straight pipe. The folds on the metal that hole the heat sheild on can be removed then welded to the replacement pipe. Looks like a cat but is straight flow. Picked up lots of power. All bolt ons can you can get, flow so much better.
