cobra ??

ive been looking at getting a 94-98 cobra. basicly whats the preferred year and why. whats the advantage to the over head cams? fill me in plz. i also figured id get more responses here then another thread.

Between those years get the 96-98. More power with the 4.6. The blocks are stronger. And the 32 valves love boost anyway you can give it.

The 94/5 cars are ENTIRELY different from the later Cobra years you referred to. The 4/5's were 5.0L pushrod powered. The later years were powered by the 32-valve 4.6L modular OHC motors. HP ratings were much different. 5.0L makes more torque down low; 32 valve makes more HP up high in the rev range. Much more expensive to do major mods (H/C/I, etc.) to the later models.

If you are going to get serious with modifications, get a 94-95 Cobra because the 5.0 is easier and cheaper to modifty.

If you are going to stick to minor bolt ons, get a 96-98 Cobra.
