Companion flange swap, how to?

I've searched everywhere and I can't find good directions on swapping an 8.8 companion flange. I know there is some kind of preload to check first (don't know how though) and that the flange needs to be removed with a puller. I just need to swap my original 8.8 flange onto my 03 cobra irs. could someone walk me through this? thanks

I was going to do that but I just bought the driveshaft flange for a 03 cobra and used a precision 448 I believe... 1330 to 1350 adapter u joint. I have been told that an explorer driveshaft flange will fit the companion flange for the 03/04 cobra. Unfortunately I don't know the year.

I thought about something like that because I am having a crown vic interceptor alum DS cut for my thunderbird but I like the original flange that is more compact...
