Ok, I'm trying to figure this out and see what you guys have to say here to help me. My car is a 1997 Mustang GT, 5 speed. Last year this is the 2 best times I ran and what I had done to the car then:

Back in April 06, I went to the Track and ran: Car then had Mac CAI, BBK 70mm TB, and Some Brand U/D pullies:

R/T - .492
60' - 2.314
330 - 6.310
1/8 - 9.555
mph - 75.91
1000 - 12.382
1/4 - 14.762
mph - 94.99

Went to the track on Sept 2, 06, with: MM LCA's, FRPP UCA's, 3.73's, Bullitt Suspension with Steeda X2 balljoint, MM C/C plates.

R/T - .613
60' - 2.146
330 - 6.127
1/8 - 9.425
mph - 76.40
1000 - 12.266
1/4 - 14.693
mph - 92.94

Now this year I have added Bassani Mid-length headers, Bassani O/R X-pipe, and bassani cat back. Here were the times I ran:

2nd pass:
R/T - 1.091
60' - 2.106
330 - 6.107
1/8 - 9.407
mph - 73.87
1000 - 12.254
1/4 - 14.635
mph - 94.97

3rd pass:
R/T - .698
60' - 2.242
330 - 6.275
1/8 - 9.644
mph - 72.78
1000 - 12.516
1/4 - 14.906
mph - 94.75

4th pass:
R/T - ..898
60' - 2.387
330 - 6.444
1/8 - 9.731
mph - 75.22
1000 - 12.571
1/4 - 14.943
mph - 95.35

The only thing I tried to do this year after the exhaust I was shifting around 5k vs going up to 6k last year beings the car seemed to lose power/flat line around 4200 and reading and that it starts to retard the timing after 5k... and these were the times I was rewarded with. Would it of made a difference if I was to keep going up to about 5800-6k to shift?? I guess I was hoping to see a nice improvement with the full exhaust

What Kinda Tires/Wheels You Running?

+1
I would try running it up to about 5300-5500 rpm. Unless it is completely falling on its face above 5000. However, by opening up the exhaust I would think that would have moved your power up higher in the rpm range than before.

Last year I was on Continental Sport Contact, 255/45/17 on factory wheels. This year I was on 255/45/17 Falken 452's. I know tires would help alot so how wide of like a M/T ET street can ya run on factory wheels? As for how bad im spinning 1st gear is pretty much useless full throttle. I'll rev and hold 1500 at the line and baby it to full throttle cause I'll spin all the way through 1st gear. 2nd gear and on I can go full throttle.

The racing was at night time and it really cooled down to where some people were having traction problems.

My last run was against an 03 GT with just the air silencer removed:

My4th pass: ..................03 GT
R/T - ..898 .....................R/T - .689
60' - 2.387 ....................60' - 2.529
330 - 6.444 ..................330 - 6.614
1/8 - 9.731 .................1/8 - 9.879
mph - 75.22 .................MPH - 75.66
1000 - 12.571 ...............1000 - 12.667
1/4 - 14.943 ................1/4 - 15.019
mph - 95.35 .................mph - 95.77

With all those mods and MT's DR's 275R17's you will be in the 13's! I am running .6 to .7 tenths faster just in my 60 ft! Are cars are no topend monsters but have great low end tq and midrange power.....with a good tire set at 17psi......you will be throughly impressed!

It all depends on the conditions....I went 14.5 at 96 on a nice cold night..went back to the track with a pi intake, 75mm tb and plenum...so I was expecting atleast a 14.4 ...nope it was humid as hell out and the best I ran was a 14.7....but there was a also a 6.0 gto running 14.4 and a srt500 trunk running 14.3s  good ol colbalt ss ran like 16 flat....everyone was running real slow that night...

Weather has alot to do with times so don't be too worried about it for the time being. How were the conditions and where are you running at (elevation?)

I'm running similar times in my basic stock automatic so I imagine your track is pretty high up there ;)

Cedar Falls Raceway, Cedar Falls, IA 50613
Track elevation 750 ft
Temp around 9:00-10:00 pm was 63.0 °F,
Dew Point 50.0 °F
Humidity 57%
Sea Level Pressure 29.97 in
wind: 8.1 mph didn't really notice any there at the track.

I'm hoping to go back up again and try to run it up higher to see if that'll make a difference in the times. I was hoping to see a difference with the exhaust but maybe I'll really need some tires to see the big picture.
