I have a 95 Cobra and have been reading the many posts and reviews on stangnet and Have come up with a list of mods I want to do in the spring. I was thinking about FRPP shorties, Performance distrbutors ignition kit and March u/d pullies. From differnet posts I've heard that shorties hurt low end pull, and pullies wont give you much on a cobra because the pullies are slighty under driven. My question is are these mods really worth it ? I would like to keep the car mainly stock exept for some bolt ons but would like to pick up a little extra hp. I'm starting to have nightmares about losing to a Neon or WRX this summer. What do you guys think.

I don't think you would see enough change to install a new set of shorty headers. As far as the other 2 questions, maybe somebody else can tell you about those on a Cobra.

Unless something is wrong with your Ignition, the stock stuff has worked great for many 300 plus HP NA combos and I would put my $$$ elsewhere.

My ignition works fine. I heard that the performance distributors ignition kit is worth about 5-7 hp. It just seemed like an inexpensive mod that would not effect drivebility. I'm not sure were else to put the cash. I dont plan on any power adders or stuff like that, I would just like to pick up an extra 15-20 hp

Been there, done that you'll never be satisified with the power of your car... You get a few more ponies under the hood, happy with it for a month, then it gets old and want more...

If you just want 15-20hp what about sending your intake off to get it ported or sell it and buy something that flows better? A bigger mass air meter and TB will help out too. Maybe even some long tube headers
