Converting to a 30 point MAF table

Alright, I must be retarded, but I can't find this on the tweecer boards. At least any good info on it.

I want to convert to a 30 point MAF table. I see the MAF sheet that I got from PRO-M has 10 voltage values and the corresponding kg/hr values.

What do I need to convert these 10 values to a 30 point table? I tried entering these values into cal edit and then hitting "convert", but nothing happened.

I'm trying to get my surge on cold start ups to go away. This started when I put the maf in the fender. When it was in the engine compartment it would never surge.

Again, I'm sorry for this as it must be a pretty redundent topic, but I can't find the info I need on the tweecer forums.

you need an excel file called NEWMAF.xls or something like that. it will automatically convert the numbers for you. for some reason, i deleted this file from my hard drive after i used it. i thought it came from the yahoo tweecer group, but i couldn't find it on the files section.

what i really wanted to add by replying here is that you may not want to adjust the maf table because it will directly affect your tune since it not only effects idle and part throttle conditions but also WOT conditions.

maybe you could try playing with the startup functions and scalars if you haven't already.

I checked out the MAF Transfer Function and all the values are very close to the actual values. I think Grady may have already uploaded the values for a PRO-M 80mm MAF when I got the base tune for him.

What are some functions/scalars that I should play with to fix the cold start up surge? I tried playing with the Exhaust Pulse Delay scalar, but it really did nothing.

I'd like to get this problem fixed before I go to the track this weekend. If raising the idle to 1000rpms is a temporary fix, I may do that.

When setting the idle manually first, do I want to have the TB screw all the way closed or mostly open? (fox style). I may try to screw the throttle screw in all the way, reset the TPS and see if that does anything.

I do believe it has something to do with the MAF being in the fender though, as the surging stated right when I put the MAF in the fender.

jake, try disabling the isc startup rpm vs. ect function by setting all y values to 0. then, under scalars, play with the isc startup rpm adder and isc startup adder. i think the scalar below that (isc startup kickdown time) refers to the function that i said to disable.

i don't know if this will help at all, but you could try raising the rpm to a total of 1000 or so for the first 10 seconds or so. does it surge any longer than 10 seconds after you start it?
