Seems like every spring we get a lot of guys/gals posting about cooling issues on their Stangs, especially in the middle of summer.

What are some tips for cooling our cars better.

My .02.

New radiator-Fluidyne
New T-stat-(I'll be safe and say 180*)
Mine as well change the hoses if they look bad or really worn.
Fluids. I've heard different versions on what fluids to add during the summer and then switch to the winter fluids. Water, distilled water, coolant, and water wetter. What combo's work the best?????? :bang:

Just trying to help out all the summer time blues people.

um I thought I needed a big radiator and all kinds of stuff. after bearing the hot texas heat...100 every day

180 t stat

manual fan switch wired to the high speed fan, that sucker stays below 180 always

and I have a mechanical autometer guage, so you can quote me on that.

I'd say the same

1- 180° t-stat
2- New radiator cap
3- Power flush
4- check to make sure the fan turns on on it's own
5- replace all the hoses
6- check water pump
7- make sure the radiator fins are clean and straight

For all that, you'd probably be looking at less than $100. Which isn't bad and your car will love you for it:D
