That sucks that the engine blew only halfway through the summer. You think your gonna rebuild that one or buy another engine? I think someone on motown is selling a good 302 right now too.

It'll depend what the inside looks like when I finally get it turned over and disected... if it's not something I can fix w/o machining, then I'm prob gonna get a new dss 306 short block with forged internals. Only 1,600 to my door, so we'll have to see.

Either 306 or heads... but, I'm getting in the 12's lol :D
 
Got the motor finally out and found out what was shot... twisted my oil pump shaft like a candy cane and snapped it in half. Not sure why my oil pressure guage said it was fine though??

Neways, I'm ordering some AFR 165 heads to match up my Edelbrock Performer 5.0 intake (ported) and am thinking about this crane cam... any input? http://cranecams.com/?show=browseParts&action=partSpec&partNumber=449601&lvl=2&prt=5

That would be great!... I'm streching every dollar to get this combo in and still need to buy the heads, cam, injectors, maf, and clutch. :D

I saw an 05 Stang at milan on Thursday night. It was an automatic right off the line and it ran 14.2's ... Not to shabby for a tank that weighs 3900 with driver I suppose, but Im still just not going to be impressed until this retro phase has passed and the mustangs goes back to evolving and not devolving.

What goes on thursdays there. anything special. I never even knew that they were open. I want to see another '05

The third thursday of every month is the Ford Employee car club meet. Alot of engineers belong to the club and bring out experimental cars and test cars every once in a while. Kind of neat to see some of the stuff that comes out. Saw that silver 99 Boss car last summer that was in all the magazines. The one that had that wierd V10 with the twin computer setup running it. That was really cool and FAST!

Dale, I didn't know you went to FME night at Milan. I was there with my red hatchback.... next month we'll have to meet up. :nice:

Yup Ive been a member for a few years now. This last night was packed. I ran like crap on top of it too heh. Ran real good at superford. Until the elimination rounds started that is. Then I ran as bad as I possibly could have.

Does anyone know if a Fordmotorsport F303 Cam will fit with a stock block and stock heads? I need to order a cam "now"!

I cant see any reason why it wouldnt physically fit :) you just have to make sure that the lift wont cause the valves to introduce themselves to the pistons heh. Make sure you get pistons that have enough relief to clear them.

It's $250 an hour for 1-15 cars. For 16-30 it's $300 an hour. It goes up $50 an hour every time you go over intervals of 15 cars. Ususally they do 6-9pm, but if we want more hours we can start earlier. I'm not sure when we are going to rent it out yet. I'm talked to the owners daughter(she handles track rentals) on Sunday and she told me to call her on Wednesday to to find out what's still open for this year. I'll post back tomorrow when I find out. :nice:

Thanx Dale, but I ended up going with the E303 cam to be safe and figure I'll up the rockers when I get heads...

Nothing like having a freshly painted 'Old Ford Blue' block waiting to go back in your car with a couple extra goodies :D

They've gotten pretty high on the 303 scale now havent they... Last time I had a ford pushrod motor that was beefed up, the B303 was the king of the ford catalog.

well guys, went 3 straight days with only 3 hours of sleep and the rest of the time working on my car and at Ford... but, the motor is back in (still trying to get it to fire, but it turns over)
