I was thinking seriously about one of these as well but my local shop said its not worth it if you have a manual transmission. He said most of the power gain you see from these are in the changing of the automatic trans. shift points? Is it still worth it to get one if you have a manual?

From everything I've heard these help out every car, not just auto's. I'm sure you will notice more with an auto becasue of the shift point controll, but they do a lot more than that. The shop I'm going to bring my car to does dyno tunes and can load the tune onto the programmer. It's not just a programmer it's a diag. tool as well. You can look at and erase fault codes when they come in.

Mine was ordered from Partshopper. Assuming I was among the first 20, I should have it on Friday.... Right, Mr. Raburn?

Must... resist... banana dance...

Oh, to answer bigDogs02GT, no, you don't leave it plugged in.

Yes but you have to buy their kit or go to radio shack and buy a power adapter and serial cable...

With the Predator, you can take a dyno tune and transfer it to the Predator and use it on your car, right?

On the surface, the Predator is better than the Superchips Micro Tuner for the following reasons (and I am using my own research and not believing all of Diablo's sales crap):

1 - The Diablo will take custom programs.

2 - You can advance the timing more than the standard program.

3 - The screen is larger

4 - It looks prettier.

The downside is that it is from Diablo. If you actually think someone from Diablo is going to give you a custom program before Man lands on Pluto, think again. I have been waiting for two months to get a custom program out of those guys so I gave up TODAY. Got my money back and went with the SuperChips. At least it will work.

AND, the timing advance is only 10% of the Diablo program advance. So, this equates to about 1 degree. Big deal.

Hi all I am new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone out there has any information on the custom super chip (SCT). I am leaning towards getting one custom burned for my car. I am actually having a Dyno Lab program the chip for me. I currently have flow master delta cat back, k&N, Home made CAI, spiral air flow in MAF, MSD distributor and coil w/plugs along with sick 18" wheels. I would like to know what kind of gains would I get. Also is this the next best horse power upgrade. Thanks to all who reply. Cheers!

The SCT is a great chip, but for the mods you have, I don't think you need a custom program. Unless, of course, you plan of further mods where the SCT could provide additional benefits.

The Diablo Predator and the Superchips programmer are essentially the same thing no matter how you slice it. Sure, with the diablo, you can download custom programs IF, AND I MEAN IF you can actually get Diablo to send you one. I have been waiting for 2 months to get custom program codes. The codes that I initially got were wrong. Diablo can not get this right. Read the reviews here at stangnet. I am not the only one with this same complaint.

Diablo..."blows". I would not use their stuff if you gave me one for free with my experience and I gave them LOTS and LOTS of time to fix the problem. Please under stand, from my stand point when I heard that they were going to sell thousands of these things capable of custom programs I thought "great, now everyone will have to wait 6 months for their codes."

I don't think Diablo is ready for this. Give it some time, and you will begin to see the complaints filling this forum.
