Damn!!! Nice numbers with just 3:73's

I ran 14.4 on 2:73 and AOD, flow-fater mufflers and ucl/lcl arms (93GT)

I recently added 3:73's, electric fan, equal length headers, short belt, AFPR, smog delete, trans-go shift kit (5200 rpm shift). I wonder what that would do in the quarter? What ya guys think? maybe 13's....or is it a pipe dream?

Thanks for your insight

I've never seen gears add 3 MPH. You gained 3MPH which is equal to a 20-30HP gain.

Trapping 89MPH with a stock 5.0 is a little low. Did you do anything else other than the gears? Any tune up or something?

Did you have any wheel spin? What kind of tires are you running?

I have. Sometimes gears are what a car needs to charge HARD on the top end. If you hit high gear and don't pull hard then you will not have the top end charge to MPH well. Gear swaps are the best way to get a car to E.T quicker, yes, but it also helps MPH if you go from DEAD 2.73s to RAUNCHY 4.10s.

ill advised

That's pretty impressive for just a gear swap. When I did it I thought I'd only see 3-4 tenths like they say in the magazines. Have yet to take it to the track hoping for low 13's. Could be possible after I attack the suspension a bit more.

That's awesome. I went from 15.5@92 with 2.73's to 14.5@96 with just the addition of 3.73's, pullies, and a pro 5.0!

Should be pretty well into the 13's right now, just haven't been able to run it yet.
