When I bought my car, the guy had put Mac LT's in and the dipstick is pretty much unusable. I'm finally fixing on all the nagging probs this car has.

I picked up the FMS dipstick that everyone reccommends on LT's. Planning on putting it in this weekend. Is it gonna be pretty self explanatory once I get up there? Any tips/tricks anyone could give?

Thanks,

J

Is it part number M6750-C303 ?
this is the one I got and I love it. Perfect for longtubes. Didint even have to bend it at all. You could do it yourself but its a lot easier if you can find a friend to help you. This doesnt just slide in..well mine didnt. I was laying on the ground holding the tip in place while my uncle was hammering with a huge screwdriver from the top. At some point, I took some vice-grips (be careful dont put those too tight !!) and placed then over the LIP of the tip. He then hammered on the vice-grips with the screwdriver and it was sliding in pretty well.

That's the one.
I'd heard some people say they filed down the tip and used some RTV to seal it up.
You wouldn't happen to have any pix from up top so I can see the orientation of it, would ya? Did you bolt it to one of the header bolts?

Thanks,

J

If you would of posted that thread yesterday, I'd have a pic for you but right now I dont have the digicam til Monday or so. Sorry. And I didnt bolt it to the header yet, although I could. I'm just lazy. It can only go one way. Mine is all the way in and I didnt use RTV to seal it.
