Dude, you have put some good effort and cash into your car. Its one of my favorite cars of our years for sure. The interior looks second to none, with the exception of the upside down bullitt knob. Get a dab of thread locker and let it dry overnight in the right position. I did that with mine, and was still able to break it loose when I replaced my boot.

Thanks man.. The knob is now straight.. Those first few pics were taken when the console still needed to be removed a few more times, so I wasn't concerned how the knob was sitting :nice: Notice in the last few pics it is straight...

I still have a few touch ups to make here and there, but I will now focus on the outside of the car, and finally, start making it faster..

I will be workin on the sideskirts this week so they will be ready for paint by the weekend, at which point I can paint my 96 Cobra rear bumper, new front bumper, and sideskirts all at the same time..

I will also be making mesh grills for the sidescoops so they don't look like an afterthought and look completely factory..

Had the numbers made for the boost timing module...

I think it turned out good... Although I'm almost contemplating having them made in Black.. I don't know if the red stands out too much for me...

I would go with black on the boost numbers personally. I think it would blend a little better. Nice work with the shift knob, I wondered why you would leave it upside down when the rest of your car is so nice and detailed! Do you already have a taker for your old cobra bumper? If not, PM me about it.

I think I agree.. I'll have some black ones made up for me..

I caught so much **** for the shiftknob being backwards lol

The pics I posted were before everything was done, so the knob was just sittting on there, not even threaded on. It ends up perfect when you get it really tight.. :nice:

As for the front bumper, I have a friend thats almost local that has a white 95 GT who would love to have it..

Shipping big stuff like that really sucks...

Its all good on the bumper man, and yes, shipping sucks. You were saying that now you are going to focus on making your car fast. A blown Cobra motor doesnt get it done for you, huh? Try rocking a nearly stock GT motor for a while buddy!

any more details on how you mounted the radio? I will be doing this....i've had the dash for a while. Will probably get the radio this winter sometime.

It took some fabrication but overall was really easy..

I used a BEST KITS FMK554 Double Din mounting bracket..

I then centered it in the ac bezel (out of car) and glued it to the bezel..

once I was happy with how it was centered and level, I fiberglassed the mounting kit to the bezel.. I put about two layers of glass weave all the way around..

Sorry, I did not take pictures..

Once I mounted the Alpine in the mounting kit using the iso screws on the sides, I took some flatbar and bent it to at a 90 degree angle and then mounted it to the horizontal metal support in the dash that the original ac bezel used to attach to... after about 2 tries just using guess and check, I got my alpine to rest firmly on it after sliding it into place...

thats it. it all fits tight..

The shifter bezel is hard to get in, but once you snap it in, it locks the dash bezel into place..

I once had a stock new edge GT :)

I know what you mean.. But then when you upgrade to a faster car, it doesn't seem as fast as it used to be, so you ALWAYS want more..

The ENTIRE reason I bought this car was because my mod motor was too expensive to modify at the time and I wanted a fast mustang, not a pretty one.. (my GT was even prettier than this car)..

Well, once I got this car, I hated the looks and I just got carried away.. SO after 4 years, I'm getting back on track..

My new motor will be able to support any amount of boost that I could ever throw at it, so my power level will only be determined by what blower I'm running and what gas I want to feed it..

The only thing that scares me is that I'll build this 800 horse motor and have enough power to loose control and wrap it around a tree, breaking my heart..

Exactly man. Im hyjacking your thread and apologize for doing so, but I was putting some thought into a new engine also. My thinking is that anything over 4-500 hp on the street is almost useless. You will hardly be able to have any traction if you want to get on it. You will most likely get smoked off a light even by a civic, unless you do some heavy suspension mods also. It would be fun for the track and toughness factor, but necessary, not really. (Unless you like racing from a 50mph roll...)

Not everyone illegally street races ;)

I think that up to around 600 rwhp can be controlled and well used on the street. I say that from experience and being around cars at this power level. Anything over that I really have no experience with to say how they act on the street. You also have to realize that alot of people would love to have an 800 rwhp car on the road even if it does blow the tires off at any low speed. That is fun too ya know. :D

I have more than 400 hp right now, but its not nearly fast enough..

I honestly don't race ANYONE......ever

I could care less how fast anyone elses car is.. the only one I care about is mine.. I don't have to be faster than the guy next to me to make it feel like my penis isn't so small..

When I went back to my home town, all the ***got ricers get mad at me because I won't race them and think I'm scared.. One guy in a PT Cruiser (I hate this guy with a passion) followed me down the road for a few miles revving at me and trying to get me to race.. I finally pulled over and told him to get out of his car because I was ready to pull him thru the window myself.. He of course didn't.. Called my mustang a P.O.S and said I rev at everybody when I drive by.. I don't.. The only time it revs is when I get in it and it blows the tires off.. Anyway, he finally sped off..

Back on topic...
I want to be able to open it up at 80 and still hold you back in the seat so hard you can't lean forward.. Most of my driving is spent doing about 70-140 when I go out... I am very lucky to live where I do, and the only things I have to worry about being on the road with me are wildlife.

I am ditching my entire suspension setup and switching to Maximum Motorsports Torque Arm/Panhard bar rear suspension with Coilovers..

Front will be tubular with coilovers also..

Between that and a 335 rear tire, I should do fairly well.

I will also be getting rid of the 4.10's and going back to a 3.73 most likely..

I think i gotcha....

Only part i didnt follow...the brace you put in. Is it like one of the 2 options below? It'll prolly make more sense once i crack it open in a few weeks.

The stock radio mount in my 02 was messed up when i got it, ill post pics of what i made to fix the problem. No fiberglassing, just bent up a simple bracket to bolt the radio trim kit to
