Build Thread Finally! 89 Notch 2v Swap Progress Thread Project: 89mach1

Well the new stuff is basically foil backed rubber w/ an adhesive that'll stick to dirt, if you want it to. It's far superior to the original non backed "asphalt type" crap that went to chit in my garage.

The problem I have w/ them is that they know they had issues, they replaced the inferior w/ stuff that was superior. While I was bitchin' to them about the crap they sold me they acknowledged that it was crap, yet never even offered to make an accommodation, despite the fact that I bought it new and had a receipt. And it didn't last sitting in it's factory carton in a controlled environment. You're right, It's Chit. Probably even inferior to the stuff Ford put down in the late 70's that you could remove by giving the floor a whack and a whole section would break loose.:)

Loooking good. No mustang magazine coverage at the Dream Cruise, but NMRA @ Bowling Green, Kentucky in October would be a sure bet. It's a great show and track and the night life is interesting around the hotels.

Can't go to ANY Good Guys events. ( They won't even let me register)

Evidently ONLY open to pre-1972 domestic vehicles. When you try to register w/ a 1989 as a model year, the online form kicks back and won't let you proceed.

I put fatmat in my car. It was about half the price of dynamat and it has worked out great for me. I bought 100 sq ft of it for 230 bucks, i plan on using the rest in my truck to keep some of the engine noise out of the cab

I'm going to pick up some product made by Stinger. It's a bulk pack for 90.00.
Supposed to be "just like Dynamat". I don't know how many sq. ft' it will supposedly cover, but the dude said the doors, the floors, and everything else up to the rear firewall. so I'll see.

Every time I see a new post in this thread, I jump into it, hoping to see paint pictures. Stop teasing me! :p

BTW, Mike, did you see in my thread that I put that MM clutch cable in my car? So far, so good...

I did, made me hang my head like a failed WII me. I have the brand new FRPP adj cable, brand new upr FWA and a Brand new STEEDA double hook quadrant. From what I got, I'm still gonna have a greater effort pedal w/ the brand new Centerforce Dual friction clutch then?

And as for the tease...........Sunday!, Sunday!, Sunday............!

Eh, I ran the FRPP adjustable cable for probably 5 or 6 years without any trouble, with the old FRPP "HD" clutch, which had terrible clutch pedal effort. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Just be aware that if the clutch is suddenly engaging right off the carpet, it's the cable to blame.

But yea, it has a significantly lighter pedal with the MM cable.

This is what I want to hear. I just pulled the taiwan FRPP cable out and put a MM non adjustable in its place. Once I have the rear end rebuilt I will report my results. Im hoping the clutch is not to blame but I have no idea what the previous owner has installed. The pedal was so stiff it was flexing the firewall.

As for your stories Mike, I saw ppl begging for cliff notes but I will never be one of them. They (stangnet) need a sticky of all your stories. Keep up the good work.

Tomorrow I'll have it back. It's painted. I have to go tomorrow morning to help him lay out the red band that goes across the front edge of the hood.

My biggest concern is all the work the painter has heaped on me for his car. If I Ain't done w/ his stuff by late Friday, he'll postpone the delivery because he won't want to have to make a second trip to P/U his car after dropping mine.

( Besides after I get that thing, it'll be real hard NOT to work on it and I'll never get his done)
