I've been working at the same company now for 6 years as a contractor. in that time i started as a base operator, created an asset management department then transitioned into a single contributing management level position. All that time only getting small incremental increases from my base starting salary. 5 vacation days a year and horrible health benefits. forget about retirement...

The company is converting a bunch of people at the same time as me finally but are only doing it because they showed how much money they could save by doing it. The stigma has always been that you will get less switching over and that had concerned me as i'm not making what i should now as it is, let alone less. i've been really stressing over it for over a week now.

Well, today i finally got my offer. it's 30% more than i'm making now! and i get pretty darn good health benefits, 15% bonus, 401k and free lunch everyday.

I can't even put into words how happy and excited i am! i just had to share :D

Well damn! I can actually say that I'm glad to hear it! It's nice to see that it's working out for someone when you get soooooo used to reading threads about dudes getting laid off, fired, etc.

Well good luck with the new job bro and CONGRATS! :nice:

Thanks guys! and yes free lunch. the company has two cafeterias that you get $4.25 every day; most meals come in under that.

Hef, i manage the infrastructure of a data center. so like planning the space, power, cooling, processes, etc. also do a lot of asset management related projects since i know so much about it.
