Okay so i bought a Richmond 4.10 w/ the installation kit including bearing's for $201.48:D I called around to 10 diff tranny and rear end places today at work (more hardly working than working hard) and lowest quote i got was $320 from a rear end specialty shop (not that bad from what i hear), others went up to $750! I plan on buying a 23 tooth speedo gear cuz a $400 dollar tuner sounds good but im going to college right now:(
Just though i'd let everyone know im getting my cherry popped! any ideas suggestions welcome:SNSign:

BTW I've heard people talk about gear whine w/ Richmonds, but my friend and his dad put FRPP gears in his cobra and they whinned too; he got fed up of hearing the gears over his S/C so he re-installed em w/ new shim and bearing and no whine:nice:

anyone have probs with speedo gears? or is it worth it for a speed cal?

The problem with speedo gears is that they wear out... I think you should pony up for the speedcal, that way you know your speedo will be right on the money and not worry about it becoming inaccurate as time passes.

One suggestion for you - don't use the supplied differential cover gasket, they tend to leak. The rear-ends on our cars come sealed w/ RTV from the factory. I used gray RTV when I changed my diff. fluid, and I haven't had any leaks in over a year.

I find it amazing that gear installations are this damn expensive, so you pay for the actuall gears and kit, then pay somebody to put the fu*k*ng things in??
Geez, the numbers i hear from you guys seem astronomical.
