Alright folks, here's my question. What should a good engine builder offer a customer in terms of support with a purchase after the sale? I'm looking to buy a 347 long block, and made my first phone call to Coast High Performance. Calls to D.S.S. Racing and Ford Strokers will follow based upon what you guys have recommended on this forum. Anyway, the salesman was nice enough; he covered the basics and quoted me a fair price. But when I asked about what injectors, manifold and fuel pump to feed this thing, he pretty much told me to find a local tuner when it comes to getting the thing set up and running between the strut towers. Is that about right? Plop down $5,000.00, take your iron and don't let the door hit you in the rear on the way out? Not whining. Just wondering.

they just build motors they arnt going to help you tune the car and stuff, deciding on your fuel system and where you want to tune the car is pretty simple. And go with CHP, DSS is garbage and ford racing strokes are retarded overpriced.

I will tell you the places you need to go and they are very well established:

www.coasthigh.com

www.rnhperformance.com (guys have given great reviews about his attention to detail and he frequents this site!)

www.keithcraft.com

www.adperformance.com

Now, as far as what injectors, intake, blah, blah you need, just ask on here and you will get some good answers?

Are you wanting a track car combination or weekend warrior or daily driver combination?

What is your budget after a 347 shortblock purchase?

Crap...The damage is done then!

Thanks guys, but I just put a deposit today on a 9.1 to 1 E-303 cammed, AFR 185long block from DSS before getting to your replies....oh well. It should be at my door step within 3 weeks. This will most definitely be a daily driven combo, So your opinions on how to finish this thing off will be very much appreciated. My budget is what it has to be to get this thing running properly for what I hope to be a very long time! :(

Ive got a buddy that runs a dss 306 pro bullet and has had zero issues with it for about 1 1/2 years now

Consider him lucky well IMHO DSS couldnt do anything for me but this was way back in the day when they first started but thats just my personal experience.

To the original poster why didnt you look local save on shipping and if theirs a problem not too far to travel.

Oh well good luck
