Ford GT40 Package add up to 305hp?

I have everything in my signature, on my car and all I don't have is the 65mm throttle body.... but I have the addition of complete exhaust, so that should make up for the difference and then some... But there is no way I am making anything near 305hp.... This is why I started questioning it:

Last night I was in a high stakes race with an SRT 4 Stage 2... the turbo on the stage 2 cars peak out at 20psi. The fuel system is stronger and the computer is changed... it also has full Borla Exhaust... It is a four door car that can't weigh much more than my or much less. We line up and I smoke him off the line spinning a little bit... I didn't launch because I would just spin. We hit second gear and we are side by side all through it.. then third gear he pulls on me good and all I hear is a HUGE Whoosh sound from his turbo then blow off valve and he slams into fourth... were doing about 110 down a 40mph street before we jumped on the brakes. At this time he is about 4-5 cars ahead of me. Now I know he runs about a 13.60-13.70 depending on track conditions. I know that the stage 2 is good for about 270hp. I hit every gear but I wasn't slamming them, he has a short throw so it is easy for him... but even then he shouldn't of beat me that much. What is going on? I should at least be right next to him. and running at least a 13.60-13.70? and ideas

A short throw and 3.73's are some of the best additions you can have if you're gonna race. Most short throws now make it basically impossible to miss a gear unless you let off the clutch too fast or something. I have a Steeda Tri-Ax on my LX 5.0 and I love it. My GT has a Hurst and it's nice too, but the handle is shorter. A lot of guys like Pro 5.0; some buy the Pro 5.0 base and use a Tri-Ax handle for the comfort...anything is prob better than stock, and it makes a difference when you can shift w/ confidence :nice:

Where did you hear 305 HP? You might (if the moon and stars align propperly) have 250 HP. 93 Cobras were 245 HP and your Street Heat intake is only worth a couple HP over a GT40 intake. Unless you have suspension work done, you should not be trying to race SRT4s with your engine combo. Like said before, gears will help greatly, but you need a set of real heads if you want make any power. Suspension would help too.

Yeah a couple of weeks ago i raced the same car you did (only i have 350hp in a 82 F-150 flareside, weighs 3600lbs) and i barely beat the guy from stop light to stop light, but i can't get traction either. But those things are very fast little cars and most people won't have a chance once those turbos spool up.

Stage 2 turbo what? What turbo is it because I seriously doubt from the factory he is pushing 20 lbs. Also, my dying ass your making 305 horses. Where did you get that number. If you want, for $1200 I'll send you a set of Trickflow trackheat heads and an X-303 cam with hardened Trickflow pushrods. Then you'll be in the 300s no problem.

okay, the stage 2 package is a package you can get from MOPAR Performance it goes up to stage 3 which is switching out a turbo... I have road in this car and when he gets on it.. it peaks out at 20 psi maybe a bit higher. And I am getting the 305 hp information based on the Ford Performance Parts Catalog... were you put on GT40 Intake, GT 40 Heads, 65mm t/b etc and you are pushing 305hp. And I NEED to get a short throw and 3.73's, I had it in my last stang and it did do great.. but gas mileage sucks....

Lots of 'stuff' here. First of all, the info you pulled from the Ford Racing catalog is for the ALUMINUM GT40 heads - they have larger valves and ports than the cast iron GT40 heads and make more power.

Second, if he's truly making 20 psi at the manifold, then he's also making more than 270HP if all is healthy. Makes perfect sense to me that he smoked you. If he had low speed traction, he'd've nailed you even worse.

take it to the track. I have a local 1/8th track where you can run for time all day for 20 on sunday. Sure beats killing someone, or loosing your car or license etc.

use your brain and get your friends to meet at the track and settle bets/disputes.
