fox lean?

I think my vert has the "fox lean" it leans about an inch and 1/2 to the left side, but only in the rear, the front is perfect!! the rear is just tweaked a little though it looks like, I took the shocks off today, and they are fine, ive narowed it down to the springs and isolators, cars never been in anykind of accident. what do you guys think it could be?

i've been trying to figure this out forever. mine is the sadly the same.

i've read that if the springs are "clocked" wrong it will cause a different height on one side or the other. I havent found anyone who's actually attributed the "lean" to this however.

i imagine it could also be because the chasis isnt exactly the stiffest and was probably "tweaked" easily at one point or another. I have no $$$ or time however to replace parts and look for the culprit.

so for now i look like i weigh 500lbs going down the highway.

lol, I'm sure this is no help to you guys, but I've been reading the threads on this for a long time, and thought my project car had the same problem... One day I switched the left rear tire to the front on accident, and noticed the lean went away! Booo bad tire! Gotta love the simple things (in my case anyway!)

I had the same issue on my old 93 vert. It is true that if the springs are not clocked properly you will get a slight difference in heights on each side. I was able to get mine "close" by clocking the spring pigtails in the correct position, but still had a bit of difference. I finally got it totally leveled by cutting a 1/4 length of coil (from the top coil) from the taller side. If I remember correctly, I had to cut a 1/4 coil off twice before it leveled...meaning I removed 1/2 of a coil. The key idea here is not to be tempted to cut what you THINK you need off the coil. A little goes a long ways! It remained level until I sold it 3 years later.

ok well good thing im putting sfc's on it and swappin the springs out this week lol. well I guess I should get at it!!

I'm pretty sure this is a common enough problem I know for a fact I've seen a spacer they sell to put under the rear driver side spring to compensate, I will try to find it again.

My 86 Capri had a lean since I bought it in 88....got one of these spacers, now it rides nice and level. Measure twice, then order the one you need.

Pretty easy to install......

some of the lean in the back is due to the fact that there is always someone sitting on the drivers side, and not on the passenger
