after a bunch of research i decided to go ahead with the conversion. aside from the cleaner look the throttle response is like night and day. rpm's come up real hard and fast. all parts were bought brand new except for the throttle cable and bracket, i picked those up for $25 from a dude on the corral. now for some pics:

I know I'll be told to "search" but I already have a engine out of a fox and the TB is on it... Besides the TB what else do I need and how much $$$ am I looking at?

Also, what are the advantages of the TB conversion?

Hey 95cobraguy where did you get the discharge tube from? I have a vortech setup, and I hate the small plastic discharge tube that comes with the kit.
After seeing your setup, I am definately going to have to do the fox T/B swap, and get a new discharge tube. Looks Great.

i got it straight from vortech, its basically the discharge tube that comes with the 87-93 kits. it was about $160. i had to cut a few inches off of it at the blower side to make it work, no big deal. make sure u get the aluminum pipe, not the plastic one. the aluminum one has the provision for the fitting for the bypass, the plasic one doesn't.

Nicely done. Did you keep the cruise when you did the swap?

I did the same last year. My discharge tube came with my blower kit, though I didn't need to trim it.

Pardon my hijacking the thread, but how does the Edelbrock Performer RPM with the plenum cover hold up to boost?

I'm going to be heading in the +psi direction soon and wasn't sure if I should replace the RPM with an RPM II.

Mine:

Aslo not tryin to hijack....
If you can make this pic out this is my Holley and Edle uppers sitting on top if each other. My Edle intake was ported as you can see and my Holley was outa the box...the Holley dwarfed the ported Edle!
Then I ported it..haha
