front drag lites and tires....

looking to get some skinnies up front but unsure on the width. im getting drag lites but for the tire i was thinking 15x5". is that too skinny? not skinny enough? would it be worth doing if i run a 5" tire or is it too close to factory to make a difference? what do most people run. probably going manual rack soon so a skinny tire will be nice. dont do a lot of parallel parking but its nice to know i will be able to

Mine are 15 X 3.5 and i've had no trouble out of them. My girlfriends mom is a cop also, she didn't say anything about them, just asked why i wanted tires that skinny..lol. I just have to slow down a little more when turning around sharp corners, due to the tires want to scrub. And when i got new tires, i had to order them from a speed shop and have them beaded on at a local tire shop ($5 bucks a tire). I put Micket thompson street et's up front. Great tire, much more beefy looking tire that the old fronts, cant remember their brand name but they sucked ass.

15x3.5 Here 165R15's.. I have no probs with everyday driving (This car is my DD!) I would take it Easy around turns.. Other than that I recommend skinnies.. they give the car a nice look when you have nice meats on the back (I have 295/50's on 15x8 Welds)

I personaly love the look of skinnies on Mustangs, looks mean :)
Your gonna be happy with the skinnies up front. Just take it easy around those 90* turns...your car will push the front tires now and braking hard in the rain is not recommended either, the front tires will slide. Just dont drive so fast now...especially in the rain around corners and because you have to slow down so quick, last summer i almost got T-boned by a Ford F-350, i was drivng about 45 and the light turned without me noticing :nonono: and i hit my brakes pretty hard and my car just slid and i ran out into the intersection and the F-350 locked up trying to avoid me, i was like :jaw: Take my advice and just drive slower now. :nice:

yah this is what i was going to say. since you are going to skinney up front remember that the front tires so the majority of braking. now that you have less rubber contacting the ground you have less friction. that means much easier to lock upyour front tires and skid which isnt good for braking. Remember that when you are on a interstate highway in bumper to bumper doing 65mph. the guy in front of you is going to stop quicker then you. i guess you will have to use the S/C of your and make sure you are always in front of peeps.

lol, but actually i never drive on the freeway. my day to day driving doesnt require it. school and work are within just a few miles. but ill be carefull. if its supposed to rain or i know im going to make a long freeway trip, i can always put the pony wheels back on
