Fuel Cell in a Fox Hatch

Got a leaking tank in the 82. Maybe it is time for a fuel cell.

Where do you guys put the cell, in the spare tire well, under the spare tire well, or do you have to cut the spare tire well out and replace it?

It looks like a 12 gal Summit cell with foam will fit in the well, with lines coming out the rear.

I know I have to put a bulkhead in, and have had it for two years awaiting installation.

All suggestions welcomed.

on mine i cut the back out between the frame and installed a flat plate and bolted a 10 gallon cell.

I cut out the spare well, welded in two cross rails and dropped in a 22 gal cell. It sits flush with the floor, then I boxed in a flat bulkhead about 2" higher than the cell and ran the filler hose to the bail cap under the hinged plate.
