I have 3.08 and they are a good commuter gear, but they suck!!! I am going to get a t5z and upgrade the rear. I am debating between the 3.73 and the 3.90. I have heard "dont fear the gear" thousands of times, but i do commute about 60 miles 3 days out of the week. does anyone have experience with this cam?

any hp guesses?

the heads flow the same as the afr 185's and had them decked to 9.5 compression.

thanks :nice:

If I'm not mistaken, the 2030 is the same as the 2031(which I have) except it was meant for 1.6 rockers. I can tell you that below 2000 its pretty soft and below 1500 isnt useable(and I have smaller induction). I have 2.73s and badly need more gear. It can just barely pull 55mph at 1500, but if it goes lower then you have to drop into 4th. I also commute 60 miles a day, but 5 times a week and I'm hesitant to go with as much as 3.73. I'll probably get 3.55s so its still easy to go fast on a road course.

Hi,

I have the 2030 cam, 3.73s with an AOD and 2500 RPM stall converter. The cam gives a nice flat torque curve which is good for the street. I'm pretty happy with it.

Good Luck, Don

this is funny 411 with a 5 speed a nd a comuute is no big deal at all!!!!! get the 373`s or better yet 410`s.......talk to people with 373`s theyl tell you with a AOD or a 5 speed its no big edall cruising it 50 miles none at all

Depends on how fast you do that commute... I run 80-85 and think the 3.50's are a little high, 2700rpm cruise, would like to try the 3.31's. Had 3.27's and 3.08's on this combo. 3.27's cruised around 2300rpm on a 26" tire.

For the cam, with a matched torque combo you have power down to idle. Once I opened up my GT40 intake to the AFR's port I lost power and flow below 2k, but picked up a good bit over 4,500 where the blower amplifies it. It's a calm near stock idling cam on the correct combo. Nothing like the horrible E cam lope and choke.
