got dyno tuned. VERY unhappy, need suggestions quick

you need a powerpipe or something to get that boost higher. I know your sig says homemade power pipe, what is homemade about it, are you losing pressure before the Maf? are there any leaks etc. I would buy a premanumfactured(reputable) pipe to hold the boost. And just my opinion but i think that Holley intake is a bit much on those heads, and can't that cause pressure drop across the board.

Yeah, i guess it wasn't really a dyno tune, i just wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. I don't understand why i'm having detonation if i'm running way to rich. I thought this was caused by a lean cond. Any way, it runs great except for using way too much gas and detonating. I just need to know if i can keep my setup with an actual dyno tune with a chip. would it def. be better to switch to 30's and a new MAF. I really dont wanna do that cause i'm broke. I will be using the 42's in the future, but if they can't flatten out the a/f ratio i can't use them. I don't think i'm losing boost before the MAF. Let me know.

Does anyone actually know for a fact, if i can keep my setup with a real tune, or do i have to change my injectors and maf? I need to get rolling on this. If i do HAVE to change the setup, could i just get a new meter, or do i have to get the whole maf unit?

Any reason you're averse to a TwEECer (www.tweecer.com)? It is very capable of fuel system control on a stock computer under boost. For a bit more than a chip, you can do your own tuning and have 5 settings to switch between. Add a bit more and you can datalog.

well, i just got off the phone with a JMS tech. He said they'll have no problems running the 42's with the chip they're burning. Hopefully it'll work as good as he claims. thanks alot for the help guys, i'll let you know how it goes in 5-7 days.

Last time I checked, JMS was selling chips for $300 through the mail. Those guys definately know their ****. My car idles at 1000 rpms with their chip. It barely runs with the stock computer, and idles at 1700 rpms. If you want to know if you can keep your injectors, give them a call. They will tell you everything you need to know.

yes they will mail-order you a custom chip that will work just fine
