Went to the track saturday night and ran a new best! Actually got it to hook up for once on street tires. The local 1/8 mile is like 5 minutes from my house, never run a 1/4. What kind of times would I be running on the 1/4?

R/T- .041
60'- 1.940
330'- 5.750
1/8- 8.915
MPH- 77.72

if we knew your 1000' time it would be easier to "guesstimate" your 1/4 ET. For example, my best 1/8 is only 8.92, but Im almost certain that particular run wouldve been a 13.6x-13.7x. Let me show you why.

Look at the times for the car in the left lane in the first slip. 8.94 1/8, 11.65 1000' and a 13.95 1/4. In the 2nd slip, look at my run, car #9018 on the right. 8.92 1/8 which is only .02 faster than the car from the first slip. But then look at the 1000' time, 11.65 to 11.35, .3 faster between the 1/8 and 1000'!

Now, I cant say that would have been a 13.6, 13.7 or anything else, I'll never really know. But it goes to show that you cant just say "an 8.9 1/8 = 13.xx 1/4". It all depends on the cars gearing, powerband, and a multitude of other factors. Judging by your sig you dont have gears, so its hard to say how hard your car wouldve pulled the rest of the 1/4.

I've seen different formulas.

1/8 mile ET x 1.54 = 1/4 mile ET
1/8 mile ET x 1.55 = 1/4 mile ET
1/8 mile ET x 1.56 = 1/4 mile ET
1/8 mile ET x 1.57 = 1/4 mile ET

There are many variables. If you launch good but have less HP, you'll be more like 1.57. If you spin a lot but have a strong motor, you'll be closer to the 1.54. It's really just a rough guide and isn't worth much.

Yeah I was happy with it, all the other stangs were running like mid 9's. I beat a 2002 camaro SS with heads and cam. It was a nice kill but he can't drive his car. My friend has a 98 TA that ran a 8.4 stock. They all talk **** with there LS1's. It felt good to beat one even if it was due to a crappy driver.

funning thing about 1/8 mile times. at our local track i could only manage a 7.7 in the 1/8 mile at around 94-95mph. i went to a track that has more tracking and banged off a 7.3 at 94 mph. so even if you think you are doing good sometimes you can still do better at a track with a stickier surface. 8.9 is pretty good though.

Before I bought it my car ran a 9 flat with little traction. I reaaaalllllyyy wanna take it to a track.

Damn local track is being reconstructed at a retartedly slow pace. Still dont know if its gonna be an uber nice 1/8th, or a 1/4 mile. I almost perfer 1/8th mile though. Really makes the launch crucial.

That would be awesome, but I got a long way to go until the 7's. Are track is farley sticky. I spun a little but didn't smoke them in second like usual. I only got to run it once that night cause freaking hondas kept blowing up going down the track most of my night was spent waiting for clean up, in the staging lanes.

Looks like we would have ourselves a fairly even race!
