Got the 331 tuned

Well, my 331 build is finally finished! I had Woody at Fordstrokers.com build the shortblock and with help from a buddy, I did the rest. Its about 10:1 compression with Twisted wedge heads, Track heat intake and tfs stage 2 cam. BBK longtubes and o/r h-pipe. Lightning maf and 42lb injectors. It made 329.5hp and 367.5tq at the wheels. Thanks to Brian at Dynotune Motorsports for all of his help with the tune!

Nice work. I bet that hauls nicely from stop light to stop light. Toss the dyno graph up if you get the chance.

very nice torque numbers! maybe i'm just out of touch but that hp seems a bit low maybe not, i don't know.

I dont think it is low at all personally. I bet he has great driveability too. I think we've all been shooting so high with these internet dyno brags, that we've killed driveability just for a number. We including me. I mean, sheesh, I am going in reverse toning down this..dragster.

Im thinking about having fordstokers do a bare block for my 331kit or selling the 331 and having them do a 347 short block.

I tried to load the dyno sheets, hopefully it worked. One of them is an overlay with the stock cobra motor with pullies, jlt intake, shortie headers and o/r h-pipe.

300+ rwtrq from 2300-5600 out of a 331 looks pretty good to me. Look at his combo, all off the shelf, no custom porting, just stuff you could get from summit.

that torque curve is nasty looking! nice flat and smooth. 300tq at 2500 rpm, i'll take that any day.

You are leaving ALOT of power on the table with that setup. Still not too bad.

Throw on a Edelbrock RPM II intake, 80+mm Accufab TB, and a different cam. I bet your car picks up 50rwhp or more and alittle more torque without giving up and driveability.

Agreed. Virtually anyone can increase the timing and lean out the Air/Fuel ratio to find a power gain. Keeping a combination within safe margins, with stock-like driveability and impressive power is what is important.

i was thinking the same thing, hell he has 275tq as soon as he hits the pedal.

and like adam said not bad at all for just a TF kit.

remember you paid for it, so as long as your happy with it that's what counts. if your looking to up the numbers in the future, it shouldn't be more than a cam swap for a bump.

btw how was your overall experience with woody? i have been considering either a 331 or 347 and his prices are very good.

Nice looking set of curves

Notice the word ... Actual ... That means STD
therefore
If the pull was done with SAE calibration the values would be lower

All in all ... Like Adam said ... for ots stuff ... I think it is pretty good

A more suited intake would not hurt drivability IMHO
and
I don't think it would shift the tq curve up much ... if any

With the added cubes ......
A bit more radical cam would not act as radical
as if
You only had the OEM block to work with

anywho ... I'd have to say that would be a REAL FUN street car
