H/C/I combo

I don't know if that is totally true. I am pushing around 285hp to the Rear wheels and I have a very mild combo.

Bro, I am not trying to be an a-hole or anything, but rather trying to correct an inaccurate claim on your part. We went over your application in the other post http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=497147&page=1&pp=25 and we told you, you didn't even have 300 hp, which would have been about 260 at the wheels. So how in since Aug. 29th are you now making 285 rwhp? that is a bold statement and if you really believe that then you need to take your car in and get dyno'd. You have a good foundation but there is no way you are making 320-330. In that other post you said "there is no way I am making 305hp", but now you claim alot more. You honestly need to just take it and get dyno'd so that you can make the proper claims.

I know it sounds like I am calling you out and being a jerk, it really gets old when people throw numbers around that are guesses at best and when people tell you good advice and try to help teach you, you choose to ignore it. That just isn't a cool thing to do............... :notnice:

Having said that, back to the topic.... if a manufacturer is claiming 300hp like edelbrock, or 350 in the case of holley and tfs, that isnt just those parts. Usually you will notice in fine print somewhere that they say something about the car already having a 65mm throttle body and the exhaust. Even in the FRPP catalog, their claims will tell you the same thing. So those claims are with the supporting parts.

Either stroke it, or supercharge it. both will be more streetable than a 302 making that much power.

First of all.... my combo as of 9-3-04 is rated at 247.43 Rwhp and that was the first pull. After the tuning and the custom chip I picked up 11 hp. So I walked away from the dyno with around 258 Rwhp.

2nd.... During the weekend I installed these things that I had laying around. I have put on a Pro M 75mm mass air calibrated for 19's, a BBK cold air intake, BBK 65mm T/B, and an electric fan. I have not had time to add this to my signature because unlike you I don't have much free time. I have to work and then go to class. I said that I have around 285 Rear tires, and I am not going to change that.

And now thanks to you and your imature bull**** I can't update my sig, or post a question b/c I have to go to work.

hahahahah.......... :rlaugh: you make me laugh with your "First of all... and 2nd" thanks though, I needed that laugh.

So let me get this right, you had all these parts "laying around" and you got it dyno'd a day or 2 before putting these parts on? the mass air meter, cold air and throttle body take 30 minutes total because they are all right there together, but you had time to take it in to get dyno'd without all your parts being on there? That doesn't make any sense at all. now if it was something bigger that would take any amount of time I would say "ok no big deal, don't get so pissy" and leave it at that.

So were those parts "laying around" before you posted this on saturday?

So far I have everything in my signature... I don't have any bottom end power and I was wondering what would help me out. I was thinking some gears (3.73's), maybe an Isky Cam, C&L Cold Air Intake, 65mm T/B, Larger Mass Air Meter, With the cam I probably have to get bigger injectors... how big do ya think I should get? Then maybe a short throw shifter.... I get signifigant traction now... but may have to get a better suspension set up. What do you guys think?

Hmmm..........

Then you would rather come on here and vent, talking smack like a little kid and then blame the immaturity on me instead of just "updating your sig" before you had to go to work? lol Oh and I am 31, you are 19 and your whining only proves where the immaturity lies. How many times did I say I wasn't trying to rag on you or talk ****, and even told you that you had a good foundation and that we were only trying to help you? The other day you got pissy because someone said something about your high rate of speed on the street and then started talking smack.

Anything else is our problem and not yours, if we hit each other then it is our deal, if we wreck or something it is our deal.. not yours so don't preach to me with very limited details... you weren't there and you have nothing to do with it.

Dude, either grow some thicker skin and take constructive criticism or don't put yourself in that situation by posting something on a public forum that others will criticize.

and for my second question, why would people want to put a 351W in their mustangs if they are rated for less HP? does the hp raise alot faster then the 302 once u start to modify it?

Yes people use 351's to stroke them all the way up to 418 i think but the biggest thing is how choked up 351's are from the factory. Being rated less than a 302 really shows it. Take a factory 351, throw some twisted wedges/afr's on top with a nice cam and intake and you got an EASY 350rwhp.

I was going to do the swap but i decided to do a h/c/i on my 302 and spend a lil more money on the weekend.....its college anyway.

Saltymaz.... Get it into your head.... your not making even close to 400rwhp, like you have claimed a couple of times in the past. Let's see some dyno sheet's..... I'll eat my short's if you make close too 400.
You should lower the letter size on your "Lousiana Mustang Club". Your taking up half the thread!!!

My friends making 323hp/348tq on his little 306 with edelbrock heads, tfs street intake and an off the shelf comp cam. Nothing special and thats with junk shorty headers too. Doesn't always take ed's stuff fwiw.
If you read the first post, he asks about H/C/I only and refers to a "302". My comment was based on a stock bottom end. Your buddies "306" probably has a point more compression (at least it should). Put the AFR/FTI/Edel stuff on his 306 shortblock and it will probably make 20rwhp more. So what's your point?

You're right. It doesn't always take Ed's stuff. But Ed's stuff does seem to be making the most power. Someone show me a stock 5.0 shortblock car with H/C/I making 340rwhp. I'm not saying they aren't out there. I just haven't seem one yet.

Crunchie..I'd be suprised if you were making 260RW your dino of 250 sounds good. Just wondering why you had a 200$ pro-m laying about and why it would be calibrated for only 19's? The TB and pro-m will net you nada for the most part, but all done and said I think you should be happy with 260. My sig is about ready to be placed in my engine bay in 8 days and I consider it "MILD" but a good combo none the less. I do expect to see 285-290 RWHP untuned and maybe an extra 10 with a custom chip. I think you have pumped up your numbers just a touch and are being a little defensive about it.

 at the not streetable comments.

My last 2 combos....Stock shortblocks with only dss pistons for p-v clearance. N/A 302 376rwhp and my other combo N/A 306 untuned 368rwhp.

Theres quite a few guys on here doing this...86 Cobra as mentioned, AutoX(something along those lines, sorry man), Perky.

LOL not even close to being correct :) He does have a point more compression. Full point = 10-12hp. 323-12= 311 ;) Putting ed's are stuff on a 10.5:1 306 will NOT necessarily make 20more hp than my friends car. Its depends on the combination.

Of course it does not mean it necessarily will. But there are numerous examples in which it does.

So if you take away the 12hp for the point of compression and ~5hp for the extra 4ci (he is making >1hp/ci), then how are the guys making the extra 25+rwhp?

All I'm saying is a large majority (I'm trying really hard not to say "all") of the top rwhp stock shortblock cars are AFR/FTI/Edel cars. You can make power with other brands. You may do better, you may not. But all of the top stock shortblock cars here are in the low 330rwhp area.

It is not "easy" to add H/C/I to a stock shortblock and make 350rwhp (even with the almighty 75mm TB).

I would tend to disagree with the combo you list.. I know that there are 3 TFS/FTI/Holley cars making over 400 N/A and I am one of them.. Mild little .500 lift hyd cam to.. Oh yeah and all 3 of those combos are just under 10:1 compression cars..

I also think it's easy to make over 350 but it's a task in a half to break the almight 400 mark..
