What combo you had on the 302 at the time? What combo you going with the 331?
302 Combo:
3.73 Gears, TFS Stage II heads, Edelbrock Performer Ported Stage II, 255in tank fuel pump, 24lb injectors, AFM B2 Cam, 1.6Rockers, 70MM TB, 75MM MAF, MAC COLD AIR, HOOKER Long Tubes, Off Road H-Pipe, MSD 6AL & COIL, PMS (AFM computer).
Things I could have changed to make closer to 340-350RWHP. N/A cam not the nitrous cam I had. Bigger TB and MAF, More Head Porting and compression. Intake would be and RPM. Now some of this would have ruined my TQ but it would achieve those numbers.
331 Combo:
ONLY SOME CHANGES:
42 lb injectors(overkill for the later blower), 80MM MAF, 75MM TB, Anderson Power Pipe.
AFM N-91: Hi REV
CAM Must use AFM valve springs. Works great on 6900 rpm 10.5 to 11.5 comp. 302-331 c.i.d. with 4.56 gears and 30lb injectors. Must use AFM valve springs.
Edlebrock RPMII intake (ported lower to match heads).
Aluminum Flywheel, Aluminum Balancer, 7qt Oil Pan.
Upgraded Springs on Heads and put in titanium valve retainers for the extra RPMS.
All internals are forged DSS prepped new block and put in a nice rotating assembly I brought to them (which was theirs). Also got a main support and windage tray.
The car spins to 7k. Runs healthy and is truly god damn fast. Not much on the bottom end and doesn't ride good at all below 2k. It starts to make serious power at 4k. Below 4k it's still fast but not like when it see's 4k it becomes a monster. Hence they want the 4.56 gears with it but I got a 3.73 right now. Still in need of a dyno tune but let me tell you she scoots.
Here are some pics of it.
