Help 2.3l check engine "flickers"

heres the thing i just bought this clean little lx with great interior except for the red part. haha anyway the car has run like a top even with 155000 on it anyway the engine is in order fluids fine fuses good but sometimes when i shift gears it seems the check engine light flickers not blinks but just flickers for a second maybe wiring connection not sure.. any ideas??

but will it still give me codes if it just flickers?? and i don't have diag tester would i need to go to dealership or trust auto zones craptacular one..?

do a search for checking codes...jrickter has a good diagram for that.

if you are stopped and just push and release the clutch, will it flicker??

not really when im just stopped, usually off of idle mid way through first then all the way through second the just a second in third.. i took out the egr sensor and inspected it?? the thing i guess that tells the computer when its opened and closed out and it seems to have stopped for the moment..
