Help me figure out what motor this is

Ford motor, distrubtor in front, motor has a 7 stamped on block on drivers side nest to dial pin in rear of motor. Guy said its out of a Grand Marquis car about 87 or 88 year model. Motor is a carb with 2 barrel, has an automatic aod tranny behind it. Has 4D28 stamped on intake beside distributor cap. Cant find any other numbers on it. Can buy this thing for $125 bucks with tranny behind it.

find the casting code on the underside of i believe the driver side near the motor mount? c designates 60's d designates 70's e designates 80's and f designates 90's. to determine the year of the block look at the first two digits on that code the decade designator ie cdef and the next digit to indicate wheater it was say a 71 or 78 or 88 for example d1 d8 e8 the lifter valley should also say 351 if its a 351 i beleive mine do

My block is an 87 and this is where I found the casting code. Some of the older engines I believe have the casting on the passenger side near the starter. Good luck!

When I get the numbers can someone tell me what it is then? Guy says its like a 89 302, want to make sure mebfore I buy it. The intake looks HUGE for some reason.
