My 89 2.3 is dying so I'm thinkin about makin it a parts car.. So can I take the front end and put it on my 79 5.0 lx? Is it simple project or more difficult than it sounds?? won't I just need a rivit gun and a couple of hands?? Neways thanks

How hard is that.. I know how u people feel about the fours eyes and all but this front end is jacked up neways.. so i really want to change it.. ill post some pics tomorrow.. but i really want to do this swap!! so wat am i going to have to do?? thanks

What's up with you guys bashing him cause he wants to change his car? face it, none of these cars are going to be $100K collectibles in our lifetime. I bet you can change that front pretty easy. You might could look at a Chiltons or Haynes manual. Sometimes they have a breakdown photo of the front end. I bet you have to change the fenders, hood, and bumper. As far as ruining a four eye car, well, you don't see many 79's running around for a reason. They are ugly.

The front end swap is smple, you have all the parts you need. I did the same thing to my old 86- start with taking off that ugly bumper on the areo car... lol... You just need an evening and a few cold ones. The wires probly need to be spliced to make the new fit but if you know how to cut and solder its no sweat. As far as the fenders go they will go right on. But if you are going to paint it up nice you should paint before you put it together.
