How long have you owned your 5.0

ive had mine since November 17, 2004.

only 7 months in its current condition:D , and only drove it like that for about a month.

One guy offered me 8k cash and I turned him down without thinking, I will never sell it as it was a great father son rebuild with alot of sentimental value

My first stang was an 88 GT, had that for a few months till I found rotted frame rails... never got to drive that one.

My current stang ive had since april 07, only thought about selling it when I found out i was gonna be a daddy, but never did.

Bought my 92 GT Hatch last August from a friend who moved and couldn't take it with him. I am just starting to get into doing the interior on it. Have a feeling once I get it the way I want it I will never want to sell it!! Will see though.

I hear the wife bitching thing too - mine has hated it since I bought it. She says I am in a mid-life crisis at 30!!! She may be right!!

I bought the first, 81 T-top 6 cylinder in 1987, drove it for 3yrs. Then replaced motor with a 5.0 and drove it 7 more years. I then added a 89 GT to the stable in 93, which I still have, but sold the 81 (mistake). I then bought a 95 cobra w/removable hardtop, kept it for 5yrs and sold it because the wife wanted a luxury car (HUGE MISTAKE), she regrets it as much as I do. The 89 GT is here to stay!!!

I got mine in '03 shortly before i joined the forums. I actually had another account here about a year before that but i have no idea what the screen name was/is so i made a new one when i got the coupe.

man i don't know about you but you need to find the right women. i have. she loves the mustang just as much as me...she even helped me change the oil last weekend, she also wanted to be around when i was working on the hvac of the stang yesderday. Her dad has a newer convert mustang. you can bet this one is a keeper :nice: Its why i haven't been on alot...my free time i spend with her. other time i either at work or school.

Ryan theres alot more to finding the RIGHT woman, than if she likes mustangs.
My wife likes mustangs. She just hates it when I have to spend more money on it. And I like to tease her about it. She was sitting here when I typed all this.

It was also an attempt at humor which went right overyour head.. :D

Part of the reason I sold the Droptop was due to the arguing about the amount of time and money the car was taking up, I had spent ALOT of money on that car... ALOT! My Wife did bitch alot about it with good reason. But now that it is gone she misses it as well. Sometimes there comes a point when you have to step back and decide what is important and do what is necessary. My family was more important than my vert so I chose my family and sold the car.

After selling the vert I went through ALOT of vehicals. None of them made me satisfied as the vert did, Because I built the vert and it was my own.

So recently I bought the 93 to build and make my own. However this time I am doing it on a budget. Cheap, free, simple and tasteful mods etc. I do not want to put alot of money into it. But I am going to make it a nice car.

Some of the coolest mustangs I have been around are ones that guys have just paid attention to all the little details cleaned them up and turned them into nice drivers.
I have had a 12 second built 91 hatch. I had the built and showy 87 vert,I had a 66 restomod with efi ac etc, I had a notch, and tons of other vehicals.

One thing I have learned over the years. You can spend a ton on new parts. Or you can wait for the big spenders to go buy the next, new best thing and you can buy their parts cheap. Thats what I am doing. I decide what I want to do and then start looking for the best deal. There are people out there who have deep pockets and will buy new stuff and practically give away the old parts.

I dont know why I felt compelled to enlighten you but I did.

Cars are easy to replace. Family is Job1.

ryan is growin up before our very own eyes.....

:D

but i've had mine since....Feb/05 i think?
I've been on here since 2001 or so though but i had a different name that got lost. I've thought about getting rid of it when it gives me fits, but i'd just end up buying another one.

i've thought about a few nice clean notches, but i've gone through so much stuff with this one I figure that i might have to go through it all with another one so why bother?

Since I was 16. It was my first car.

I never wanted to be one of those guys telling the story about the car they had in high school and how they regret selling it.

So 11 years later...i still have it :)

I've been offered cash for it plenty of times. Turned down every one..wouldn't even take a phone number

I got my 89 on May 10th of 2003. Drove it everyday and loved every second of it. Never left me majorly stranded anywhere. As most of you know I had to retire it because of commuting to school and the shock tower rust got pretty bad. I was tempted to part it out but I just couldn't do it. I waited, and along came my 88 ttop LX roller. Its just getting a body replacement. The 89 is a gonner but its soul will always be there. Its going to be a sad sad day for me when the junkyard comes to get the shell.

theres other reason Im with her...but i dont think i need to talk about my relationship fully here...lets just say i didnt even know her family had a mustang or that she liked them when i meet her. It was just a added bonus one day when i picked her up.

In 33 days it will be 19 yrs I've owned my mustang.

We said from the day we bought it, it would be a keeper but 8 yrs ago when I got a grandson we said we'd give it to him when he was old enough to drive. So for another 9 yrs I'll still be the original owner:D
