i am putting new pistons in my 302 with a 530 lift camshaft. i will run 93 octane pump gas. i have stock heads and want about a 10:1 compression ratio is that to much?
thanks
I'm pretty sure valve lift has no bearing on predetonation, but the camshaft timing and camshaft events do.
There are a few others things that will still make 10:1 unstable with 93 octane, one off the top is the reliability of the fuel you buy... sometimes it's not always the same.
My suggestion is use great attention to details, tune, and where you buy fuel.
I do agree with fast63... but I've seen otherwise a few times also.
thanks i was originally going to buy need aluminum heads but cant afford but still needed pistons and wanted good compression for when i get some new heads
