I dont have the cash for a alum or new rad, or fans (im flat broke) but I have installed a 180 degree thermo and flushed the rad and put in a bottle of water wetter but I still run between 205 and 230 in suburban driving. any idea on how to keep her cool ?

The #17 wire in the ccrm is where you hook up a toggle switch to. That's the high side fan. The #17 is your power and all that is needed is a ground at the toggle. The EEC turns the fan on high at 210-225 degrees (can't remember the exact number).

I don't know where you can get a fan switch kit, but you can get everything you need at RadioShack.

I have one of those radiator caps with the red lever, so what I do to burp the system is run it (cold) without the radiador cap untill the coolant comes close to overflowing. Then I drive it around for about 20 minutes to get it as hot as possible and get the t-stat open. Then I come back and park it on that same incline with it idling (I let it idle for a minute or so and rev it a couple times) and lift the red lever which will killl the system pressure, but will purge all the air through the overflow bottle, you'll see the air going through to the bottom of the bottle and bubbling out. It seems to work fine for me.

I don't know the standard way of doing, it but that's just my way.
