:owned: I finally got the 4.10s installed. IT defintely changed the power curve. The only thing is that i don't know if i will be any faster b/c of traction problems. I know everyone will be quick to say that i can't drive, and that MAY partly be true. I have 275/40/18 NITTO rubber in the back, and i try not to nail the gas to avoid spin, but even in second i can't get traction!!!!!

I know the next recommendation will be lower control arms....it is on its way. Besides that, any other tips on UTILIZING my 4.10s??? (yes, i will continue to practice)

p.s.
LSU ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sooners

Which Nitto's? Are you using drag radials? You definitely need them. Once you learn to hook up, you might start looking for new axles...you'll need them sooner or later. What RPM level are you trying to launch at?

LSU Rocks...but USC is #1 :rlaugh:

Its all what you like bro. When i put my 373 in i was losing to a lot of my friends because i couldn't hook. I personally like the 373 but a lot of people like the 410 owell. It all depends on what you like. Just practice and you'll be just fine. Takes alittle time to get use to. Yes your are going to be slower unless you get them off a roll or little how to hook with them.

Damn it, i don't want to get sticky tires with 18s b/c they will wear down so fast. I don't have the 555R, but just the 555. And i definitely hope i will never need new axels. Hmmm, maybe 3.73 was the answer.

just practice, and work on your suspension. you dont need sticky tires for the street

what jackie said :nice: i had them on my old stang & had no problem with traction on the street at all (unless i wanted traction problems :D ) just give it a little while & learn to drive with em,cause you'll be in the same boat with the 3.73's if you switch. just be patient & practice on every deserted straght stretch :nice:

4.10's hurt your times???

That made my head hurt.

Oh, and gears don't do a thing to your powerband. If your car's powerband falls on its face after 5700rpm's, it will be the same way with the gears. It's just that it will pull a bit harder because of them.

Hey man,

I have the 373's and I kinda wish I had 410 but I will be going back to Cali and traveling a lot so 410's will hurt my top end to much however I still wish I had them. It is very tricky learning how to drive them with 18's so it will just take some time. Once you get used to them you will love them

i am not sure about it helping my times much,it is just the plenum stock tb, most people that have dynoed just the plenum get about 6-8hp to the wheels, so i guess you could attribute it to about .75 mph in the 1/4

i also ran a 13.25 on the stock tires, im consistent with 13.3s though

I still think 4.10s may be a bit too intense for the amount of driving I do day-to-day. I leaning toward 3.73s or 3.90s at max. I do alot of highway mileage and i really don't want my engine spinning at apprix 2500-2700 for 2 hours a day. I plan on keepin this car for 10 years.

Still, I've never driven a 4.10 car tho.. I may get behind the wheel of one one of these days, and say heck with it, and get the 4.1s, lol

Nope!

This is not true! 4.10 is the BEST street gear for an N/A modular car. I went down to 3.73s when I got my blower, and kinda wish I hadn't. The 4.10s are not hard to drive at all on the street, and the car will not wear out any faster. You'll turn 2950rpm @ 80mph on the highway, which is just fine, and out of the "drone zone" for Mustang exhaust.

Get the 4.10, you won't be sorry. :nice:
