They stop pulling around 6500rpm..
gotcha, so pretty much after that its just hot air. For the 2.2 kb, you would really have to watch your setup, espcially your cam choice? I rev to almost 6.5k now on my car with mild cams.

NVM, I forgot a lot those cars are DOHC not SOHC.

opps I quoted you before you edited it. crap.

Ok, so yea, I knew that the N 2K would be able to pound out more HP (higher trap speed) but the KBs torque (off the line) let it pull a better ET. Now given both at the same PSI, the trap would be even but the KB would have a better ET. But what happens when you turn up the boost to the novis limit of 27? It will walk. And ok maybe the F3-R is a little too extreme, so how about the f1-R from procharger, there are plenty of 5.0s and various other street cars running them....but why does teh 2.2 have overheating problems? Now the N 2000 and JT trim and 1.7 fit under the completely streetable area. But the 2.2 and F1-R fit into the semi. Tim, why not build a 2v with an F1-R on it and see what happens? 7.0-1 compression, 29PSI intercooled, and maybe a little meth spray. I really respect what you say Tim, and again i do agree that 2 simularly powered cars, 1 KB and the other centri, KB wins in the 1/4. But its just that the centri setup you are building are nowhere near peaking the centri, I dont know if its due to compression and having detination but if you were to build a 2V capable of holding that 27PSI, I think the results would be very different. :flag:

Oh and Tim, what is the peak effecient PSI the 2.2 can run? Are you at its limit right now with 19PSI and 7200RPMs?

I have built them with alot of boost. My car had a F-1R on it with 30 psi and made alot more than the KB car did.Discussion here is street cars, not race cars.;)A F1-r is alot bigger blower than a KB 2.2.Kinda like comparring a F1-R to my current twin 72mm setup..

19 psi from a KB verse 22 psi from a Novi.KB car won @ the track.
KB 2.2 won't compete against a 27 psi F1-R or Novi car.

Yes,the car won't make any more power..2.2 seems to be done around 650-670rwhp..I bought G.I Joe's car and its currently getting twin 72 mm turbo's put on it.

Thanks Tim, sorry about the F1-R think, got kinda cought up in it. So basically guys it looks like for a street driven car you really cant beat the KB, but the N 2000 is capable of more power and a better time if its pushed to its limit. But for practicality the 2.2 will win. And In my book 650RWHP is more than enough. I belive that these guys where begining to think that the 2.2 was capable of more power than a novi2000. And well that just shows that they are not, but for a street car on pump gas 2.2 wins i guess. Like I said before, its all about what you want. So Tim, your FINALLY got yourself a car huh? So why you putting TTs on? You just said that if you had another street car it would get a 2.2?????????

I just realized Im an idiot for arguing with you Lover..Disregard anything I've said.I forgot where I was at.

I let G.I joe know about this thread.Let the man who went from a Novi 2000 with 650rwhp to a KB 2.2 with 600rwhp tell you the difference and which is faster. You of course are welcome to argue with him,but he has owned both and ran both @ the track.

Look up Micheal Kidd as well.He went from a JT trim to a KB 2.2..Went faster as well...Maybe Kidd will chime in as well.

I'm still trying to figure out and please explain to me for the last time, if your so called KB is so bad ass, why don't you see one if the winner's circle at racing events? If they are sooo great, then lobby to the centrifugals boy that whoop the KBs ass at the track and street and have the trophys in their living room, explain to them that they should switch to a KB.
A lot of racers that have killer cars on the track, also have killer cars on the street. And if the Pros and racers are putting the centrifugals and other power adders, not KBs, in their cars, then WTF are they thinking?
I stay in Lithonia. My car is getting a R302 block right now, so I'm down for a little while, but my friend and neighbor has a Novi 2000 and he will be more than happy to oblige. When do you want your ass whoopin?
Beside's a said that I am not biased in any way, but I know that I want the best out of the two. And until I start seeing those KBs in the winner's circle after the centrifugals hand them their ass to them in a basket, then maybe I will get a KB. By the way I know a couple of boys that will gladly hand out ass whoopins with their centrifugals up at the track at Eatonton,GA. You are more than welcome to come and run what you brung. Go and show them boys how bad the KBs are........

wow, just wow. This is why I should be a mod :)

Ahh 8s LOL. Hey, make your goal to beat an 8.76 @ 154. There was a guy in my town with a 502 nova on the spray with a best time of that. Street legal...yea lol. But he had an inspection sticker (payed), so I would love to see a 2V beat that ET. I would assume that your going all titanuim (sp) internals, with a custom billitt crank.

Oh and Lover, Tims point is that for street car running 20ish PSI (pump gas) on a 2V the KB is the way to go....not that the 2.2 will own all in an all out race. the novi has more potential, but its peak at 22PSI on the pump gas is just not enough to evercome the 2.2s peak on pump gas of 19PSI. If you were to run race gas or lower the CR, the novi would win....but given the same engine at around 8.5-1 CR....its the KB. My point earlier was that there are many centris capable of beating the 2.2, and it would take the massive air flow of the f1-R or F3-R to equal it...but they are right, the Qs was will a novi 2000 beat a 2.2. So its yes and no. Pump gas no, race gas yes. LOL.

Wow, you should've stopped on your previous post. This post alone has made you lose all your credibility. The more you type the more you sound like a chit talking ricer who has no idea what the hell they're talking about. "My friend with this can beat your car. My friend with that can run 8s". Give me a break. Too much smack talk from someone who gets their info from magazines sitting beside their toilet...

Yeah, no kidding. I hate seeing this kind of cr@p talking on stangnet.

As far as supers go, there really isn't a losing species. The market for these things is vast enough to appease anyone with the right stuff in their pocket. :nice:
