Idle problem solved! I hate dumps!

Pretty sure that if you unplug the IAC and your car remains running, you have a vacuum leak. Your car should stall once the IAC is unplugged.

I have a hanging idle on my car. I just ordered the IAC adjuster of 5.0 resto. Its gonna get here this week. Hopefully it will solve my problem...I let you know.

I have a very similar problem with my Stang. With the IAC connected, it would idle around 1500 RPMs, and then climb a little bit. I tried fixing it by adjusting the throttle screw, and got it to idle around 800 RPMs or so, and that was with the screw almost as far out as it would go, almost not even touching the plate. Also checked the TPS voltage, and it was fine. But then my friend and I noticed something interesting. With the IAC connected, the throttle felt like it was sticking. We couldn't figure out why it would do that with the IAC connected, but not do it with it disconnected. Very strange So, I tried driving it like that, but the sticking throttle annoyed me, and not only that, I noticed that the engine would idle closer to 1000 RPMs after driving around for a while. I decided that I'd rather have the car run good with the IAC disconnected than having it act strange with the IAC connected, so I disconnected it again and readjusted the throttle screw so that it idles around 700 RPMS after it's warmed up. I have no idea why it acts the way it does with the IAC connected. If you figure it out, or if you hear something, please let me know. PM or e-mail me

I installed a thing called a "motorvator" its a 1" piece of aluminum that goes between the throttle body and egr plate..its supposed to swirl the air and get better HP..Its a load of crap and they suckered me out of $70.00..i think that thing is making the idle jumpy..i'll let you know what happens BTW..the avatar is not my car,its a car I found off a website i need this door molding and i put a request on the parts site because I dont have a hosting site to send pictures to

I put a Tornado in our pony so far there is a noticable difference in mileage and torque. will let you know with hard #'s in the next few weeks.
