I took my ride out for a couple of hours today and I cant hear and have a major headache from breathing in exhaust fumes on account I was too lazy to put the tail pipes on(which well be put on tomorrow!) anyhow, I had the famous surging idle and I fixed it! all I did was unplug the iac..the idle dropped way down where it should be and when you are sitting at a light, the idle doesnt shoot up like it did..it didnt even throw a trouble light..I dont know if its recommended unplugging it but it works
)
So, I tried driving it like that, but the sticking throttle annoyed me, and not only that, I noticed that the engine would idle closer to 1000 RPMs after driving around for a while. I decided that I'd rather have the car run good with the IAC disconnected than having it act strange with the IAC connected, so I disconnected it again and readjusted the throttle screw so that it idles around 700 RPMS after it's warmed up. I have no idea why it acts the way it does with the IAC connected. If you figure it out, or if you hear something, please let me know. PM or e-mail me
