I love how my Bassani's sound on my 32V, & I want a set for my Fox, but I have yet to hear them on a 5.0 in person.... Flow's always sound good I guess, & I have Magnaflow's on my Fox with LT's & an o/r X, & they sound good & all, but are too quiet IMO...

I know this isn't a 5.0, but here is a vid of my Mach with Bassani's, LT's, & an o/r H....

Borla Stingers!

SLP LMs!

Actually, the loudest Mustang I ever heard has Bassani BX cat back with a MAC O/R H-pipe and stock manifolds. I can barley hear my neighbors Dodge Cummings when he gets home but my buddies Mustang I can hear when he pulls off the highway to go to myplace a 1/2 mile away
I used to get nervous when we cruised cause I thought for sure we were gonna be pulled over cause his car was too loud.

Flowmasters all the way. They are "played out" cause their the best sounding muffler on a 5.0. No other muffler gives you the tinny rumble that lets EVERYone know a 5.0 is comin better. I like a couple other setups, and its hard to make a 5.0 sound bad, but LOVE my flows. You dont be dissappointed!

Agreed. I'm not running Flowmasters currently but they are still hands-down my favorite. I've gone through many set-ups on my '90 and I have to say my favorite setup was shorty headers, o/r H-pipe with 3-chamber Delta Flows. Back to the basics. It's not as though my current set-up doesn't sound good but I miss the "chambered" exhaust.

Magnaflows are IMO the best sounding mufflers that could go on a 5.0. It makes the car sound exotic.

I wonder if those generic Flowmasters that Summit sells are comparable in sound quality to actual Flow 40's...?

those are almost wha ti bought i couldnt see paying retail prices for flows. i got lucky and traded my tach for the 40's. not sure i wanted that tach anyways and im gonna sell my violator muffler now. i see you have violators? idk anbout you but those things are not for an x pipe. maybe it was my heads or headers but they didnt have a good sound to them.....now maybe on an h pipe or something i might not sell them cause they are still pretty good mufflers for the price.

I dunno how they'd sound behind an H-pipe. I happen to like the way they sound behind an off-road X, and I love their tone, but I do wish they were a bit quieter. Problem is, anything quieter is bound to almost be TOO quiet if I step down to Magnaflows or something else similar to that.
