The only code that a friend can find on a 302 block (with 2 bolt caps, 4 barrel stock intake, stock heads from a 69 Mustang) that I may buy from him is GFFC2175. Does that mean anything? I was hoping to find a C or D first so I'd know the year. Also, if it has not been overbored what is it worth approximately? Thanks!

The casting numbers are located above the starter location. The set you posted make no sense. , Not even the number portion, the numbers for an engine block are 6015. To Id the date you also need to post the date code, it'll be the number/letter/number combo next to the casting numbers on what looks like a screwed in tag

there is a good chance that a 69 302 could be one the mexican block 302's with the beefier main caps and higher nickel content, if it's a san jose car, odds are really slim if it's a dearborn or metuchen car.

if it is a mexican block it will say Hecho En Mexico in the lifter valley i believe. the mexican block might be worth a bit more than a normal block but not by much even though it is a fairly sought after block. i wouldn't pay a whole bunch for it even it is a mexican block

OK, so lets say for the sake of getting some value estimate, that the engine is a 69 302, non-mexican casting, and has never been bored, with original heads and intake - and it needs a complete rebuild. Is it worth $200 or $500? Best guesses please ....

I wouldn't pay more than $200 for a core. Other people looking for an early block would probably pay more than that.

If it's a mex block then the price doubles and then some maybe up to $500.

In my area $400-$800 will get you a good running <50000 mile 5.0 from a fox body.

To me it's just another 302. Check the code on the block where the starter mounts and then you'll know what you have

A std 69 302 block and heads? I'd pay no more than scrap value. A Mex or Boss block? Yea, those will brong premium prices.
