Which is better for the dollar, time and HP/TQ?
Magnaflow catted X
or JBA Headers
vs.
C&L 80 MAF & AccuFab 75 TB w/ C&L plenum

Time to complete is also a crticial factor at least now.....

Ideally all 3 is the way to go IMO, but time and $ prevent for now..
Many thanks..
Jeff

just remember what goes in must come out. intake and exhaust is pretty much dead equal so if you do one intake mod do one exhaust mod as well. So with the money you have i'd go MAF and Midpipe. Good luck

Your theory is good, but there is nothing wrong with the OEM MAF. If you want to lean your A/F out (which is all that the C&L MAF does), get a chip or hand held programmer.
But I totally agree with your thinking of what goes in must come out. Work the exhaust from back to front, starting with a cat back, then mid-pipe and long tubes. Get the cat back (at least) before adding induction.
And if you don't have gears yet, go get 'em - definately best bang for the buck!
Just my 2 cents...

Headers and mid pipe first. That'll give you a big gain, but its very expensive (header installation is)

Agreed there can be a big gain, but (as you said) at a very expensive price - If he's comparing plenum and TB vs headers and mid pipe, there's really no comparison. They aren't in the same ballpark as far as bottom line costs are concerned. To do it right, you need to buy LTs ($$) and likely have someone install them for you (more $$$) The most expensive plenum and TB is the Accufab at about $450. The BBK LT are about the same price, but the plenum and TB you can slap on yourself in about 30 minutes...once again, just my 2 cents

I've been told that the design of a stock cam favors exhaust mods? Is this true?

intake is gay. get exhaust (full exhaust), gears, K&N, and save for the blower/nitrous. everything else is all a waste. just get those items, save for a s/c or nitrous. those are the only mods that are going to make a real difference.

MAF's are a waste. Replace it when you need to, which is when you peg the stock one. Unless you're putting a blower on the car, you're not going to do that.

JBA's headers are outrageously expensive. $500 for some damn shorties, and their new equal-length headers are like $900-$1,100. Please

Do it right the first time, longtubes and an offroad pipe if you don't have to worry about emissions.

no way bro, what are you thinking? Intake is just as important as exhaust is.

Dude, you need to take a look in the mirror (and in the driveway). They say that most people who call everything gay are they themselves fighting their own feelings of being gay.
Which of these mods do you have on your car? Full exhaust - no, Gears - no, Blower - no, Nitrous - no. Hell, you yourself don't even have full exhaust listed in your 'future mods'. And you have an automatic.

What, a pair with just the exhaust lobes enhanced though, right?

WTF? Ummm, OK, whatever...
I don't know whether to be honored, impressed, offended or what.
Where are those ghetto intake temp tests?...I've been trying to track them down. Thanks KaPPaBaLL!

intake is good too, but i was thinking that he meant jsut a CAI or something like that. Intake is important, but the way I see it is that it is noit worth the money. What, a new Plenum, CAI and TB along with a spacer is what, easily over 1K?? to me, its not worth the money for something like 20 hp. i have the auto tranny snce i've had the 5-speed before and i wanted to see that the auto can do w/ what i have listed in my future mods. this is what i will have at the end of the summer. i want to have all the mods installed at the same time so i only have to pay for a dyno tune once. an auto is WAY more consistant than a 5-speed, even though it isnt as fun
OMG- i sound like a ricer LOL

I think the full exaust is a good way to go. All I have done on the intake side is PP the plenum and CAi, I am holding off to get a KB or atleast a bullit intake I hate that plastic Mickey Mouse crap. I had to go with shortys because of the whole ca thing, but I am very happy with my exaust set up.
