intake vs. exhaust

intake is good too, but i was thinking that he meant jsut a CAI or something like that. Intake is important, but the way I see it is that it is noit worth the money. What, a new Plenum, CAI and TB along with a spacer is what, easily over 1K?? to me, its not worth the money for something like 20 hp. i have the auto tranny snce i've had the 5-speed before and i wanted to see that the auto can do w/ what i have listed in my future mods. this is what i will have at the end of the summer. i want to have all the mods installed at the same time so i only have to pay for a dyno tune once. an auto is WAY more consistant than a 5-speed, even though it isnt as fun:( :rlaugh:
OMG- i sound like a ricer LOL

clap clap clap, deep in the heart of texas!

here you go.. this is how i got my 20rwhp from intake..
C&L MAF ($150), Accufab 75mm TB ($222), C&L Plenum ($165) = $537 :D!!!

The induction is not that expensive - I paid less than $800 for an Accufab plenum, 70mm TB, C&L Trueflow tube and C&L 85mm MAF kit. Even a bit cheaper is the same Accufab pieces (circa $425) and the K&N FIPK Gen2 (circa $225)which has even been getting some high praises around here. That's only $650. And anyone can easily install all these yourself. BTW, you wouldn't want to install a spacer with any of the aftermarket plenums - they are essentially built into the design. Adding more height has been shown to actually hurt performance.
Best of luck in getting all your parts installed over the summer. And, dude, you ain't no ricer...unless you put a big azz wing or fart can on it...or it drags on the ground and bounces over every little bump in the road. You know what I mean...we've all seen 'em. Cracks me up everytime! :D :rlaugh:

If you want to screw with the intake, get a Bullitt intake and be done with it. Better yet, an extrude honed Bullitt.
Not cheap is the big problem there...and not much of a gain.
Of course there is the P-51 intake for about twice the price of a Bullitt intake.
I'm just waiting for the next bonus and going KB all the way. (there's one way to get rid of that plastic POS and bolt on 125HP.) Of course, the KB REALLY ain't cheap, but, freak, might as well go for it at some point.

OK, you win...and since you did the ghetto inlet pipe temp testing - (I am finally going to go find that thread)...let me know if you need anything, bud!
OK, here goes...
