Alright this is a question for a buddy of mine. I do not know about the timing adjustments on this tuner since i have the predator.

What do you guys recommend we advance the timing to and on what rpm ranges? Its a 98 GT mustang he has an slp catted x, slp LM1 catback, and a K&N CAI. Im here at college so im not near him right now but he said that you cant advance the timing one degree at a time. he said it goes from 0 then straight to 2 degrees. I told him to play with it and just listen to the motor while advancing the timing. It has a custom tune though that was made by americanmuscle.com so i dunno what they did or if my friend even loaded there tune.

I ordered my Xcal II from them americanmuscle.com. I am running their 93 octane tune and it seems to perform well. It has good low rpm power and it doesn't fall down on the top end either. However, I haven't tried adjusting their custom tune, other than fan speed and rear gear ratio, so I am not sure on how much and when to add timing. He should take it to someone for a dyno tune.

Sounds like you answered you question already. As with any timing advance device, advance it until you hear pinging then back off a little.

I maxed the timing on mine and leaned it out and had no issues. They set it up so you can't damage your motor. If you do here any pinging back the timing off
