does anyone have, or i think a problem would occur with the MAF being in the fenderwell along with the filter? i live in washington state and it rains more than half the year

As long as the filter is pretty high and you dont drive through huge puddles (I grew up close to you and don't remember seeing that much standing water too often) you should be ok. I might put a splash shield below the filter element to help knock splashing water down. I'd email the manufacturer for their input.
