I was wondering what the lowest amount of boost that could be run on the 2.6KB. there website shows 9-25psi is what its rated for but someone was telling me that 13psi is the lowest it will go on the 2.6l. Not that i was looking at them or anything:rolleyes:

if i did get this kit it wouldnt be for another year till i built the motor thats why i am asking. otherwise ill just go with a 2.1

kb 2.6 has the widest range of psi rating and its better for high boost because its wayyyyy more efficient then if you were to get the lower model and run high boost, but if you dont want to run more than like 12psi there isnt much sense to getting it.

well im just saying because ill have it on for almost a full year before the motor gets built and i def wanna have a 600rwhp car and the 2.1 probably wont get me there so thats why i was thinking just upgrade now and run the lowest amount of boost possible till its built

You all need to shut up

Gonna make me put my suspension work on the back-burner, build the engine up, sell the 2.1 and upgrade to a 2.6 or 2.8...

I want 600hp almost as much as I wanted 400hp a year ago. Although I can wait on lowering my gas milage below the 8mpg (city) I already get.

But to stay on topic, I've heard of people running it as low as 9psi while they wait for money to build up their engine. You'll see lower air temps running 9psi on the bigger blower, but you'll also have more parasitic loss from spinning the bigger screws. No idea at what point the 2.6 outdoes the 2.1, other than 14+, which is out of the 2.1's generally accepted range.

thanks for the advice guys. once the motor is built it will be around the 18psi range. not exactly sure what the hp will be at that boost level but im guessing somewhere in the 600 area lol. also when i mean build the motor im talking blower cams and ported heads too lol. gotta try and out run my bike

How about a twin turbo kit? You can get the twin 50mm kit for the stock internals, then upgrade it to the 57, 67 or 76 mm twins when the bottom end is ready for more. Comes with tubular k member and coil over setup, x pipe etc. I believe everything you'll need (except labor) is included in the kit.

96-04 Mustang Twin Turbo Kit

I like how the turbos are hidden in the bumpers, but I'm not sure how they don't melt the urethane. Pop the hood and at first glance, it doesn't look boosted.

I'd even be willing to put the stock grille back on my 02 to hide the BOVs...

well i actually have been thinking turbo too but what i also havent told yet is i will go turbo with a supercharger lol. I have been eying that new hellion compound boost setup thats why i just started decided to go KB lol. I can get the KB have insane amounts of low end then few years down the road after the motor is all built then TT it as well. by this time it wont be my daily driver anymore so a 1000+rwhp street car wont be bad lol.
