I realize the power/boost differences between the 2, however I have a few concerns

I would much rather the low end boost of the twin screw, but the kit says 6-9 psi...can they be pullied more?

I know there were some issues on high boost temperatures with the old blowers, however I would imagine the new 2.2l's run cooler? yes?

Can you get a "tuner" kit with both brands, meaning no fuel or spark items...just the blower?

People on here have been making some great numbers with vortechs...can a kenne bell perform similar at higher rpms/boost?
thanks

the bigger kenne-bells can keep the boost up throughout the rpm range

Remember it is area under the curve, so to me the KB is better... especially for the street...

If I ever found that kind of $$ to thorw at my car it would be a KB...

My cousin's car is an ANIMAL with his KB blowzilla. He has recently added a flowzilla manifold and a ported Gt40 lower intake. I haven't rode in it yet but I can only imagine what it feels like now.

I dont remember his name on here for some reason, but there is a dude in here that has an sn95 h/c/i kb that put down right around 500 to the wheels so they are definitely no power joke. I think the rumors of them not making alot of power are kind of strange. Obviously Vortechs usually peak higher, but kb can still make great numbers.

Yeah, I agree. Especially now since all kenne bells sold for our cars come with the larger 2.2l and blowzilla intakes

it really depends on what you do with the car. If your car is always in the upper rpm band...chances are I'd go with a vortech.

If you daily-drive it then you might wanna consider a KB.

me...I'm happy with my daily-driven vortech...or..I will be once I get this compression issue figured out......

Actually it's now 2.1L. Same output and less heat according to KB.

Hey man KB's rock! It's like riding in a roller coaster with all the torque (3:73's what I ran). An absolutely fun ride ever time you go somewhere! If you don't like it or get bored with it after awhile, just sell it and do another combo. I really miss the feel of one.

I need to dig this thread back up again for some more info.
Basically I have been waiting to get my car painted to order the blower...now that thats done im ready.

First of all, do you think I should order the regular blowzilla or upgrade with the flowzilla for some more money?...i plan on selling my typhoon intake and getting a cobra gt40 lower(again lol)
http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/ford/blowzilla-flowzilla/blowzilla-flowzilla.htm

Next, pricelist. http://www.kennebell.net/pricelist/SC-PRICELIST.pdf
They show $3095 for the 94-95 2.1l blowzilla kit.....

However if you scroll down to the 2nd page, they asking $3399.....

edit, from what i can see, the more expensive one includes the bypass valve and your choice of pully, but same blower....should i get a bypass valve one?

I assume the lower price is the correct one, however what is up with this? Also, do people realize these are basically the same price as a vortech, etc?

The $3399 one has the bypass valve whereas the $3099 doesn't. The $3699 has the Flowzilla intake and bypass. The bypass, as I understand it, is needed with the higher boost options.

I didn't know this until I started messing with blowers, but the bypass valve is a pretty cool device that keeps excess boost from building up when you transition quickly from WOT to cruise.

It's a little valve that prevents boost buildup until manifold vacuum drops (you stab the throttle). Once the engine gets out of WOT, it allows the buildup of boost to vent somewhere instead of backing up into the blower attempting to force it the opposite way it is turning.

For my Vortech, the bypass keeps the boost from building until I really want to go somewhere and then it closes, forcing all the boost into the engine.

I thought it was a rip to not build boost at light cruise, but in practice, it really works well. Who races at 2500rpm anyway?
