looking at buying a 03 cobra. couple questions.

Looking at picking up a 03 cobra!! Dark Shadow gray with crome wheels. bone stock 5000 miles.

Any ways what exhaust should I go with. I was think borla stingers and magnaflow catted x pipe. but most of the cobra owners will tell you to go with bassani and nothing else why is that. i have magnaflow on my gt and I love it. but I got a chance to hear the borla stingers on an 03 this weekend and all I can say is wow. what kind of power would I be making with this setup.

a budyd of mine has the bassani catback and catted x pipe on his 04 mystichrome. it sounds amazing. however im usually listening to the KB screaming with 21lbs of boost. anyway, i cant tell you exactly what you will get with just an exhaust, i would assume maybe 20hp with the catback and midpipe, but the cobras generally get big gains with small mods. if i were you i wouldnt dick around with swapping pulleys on the heaton. just take that crapbox off and slap on a kenne bell or a whipple and be done with it. the guy that did all the installation work on my buddys mystichrome was in muscle mustangs last month, he owned the cobra that got the KB 2.4L and crower cams. that car is an absolute beast. depending on how much of an inherentence i am gonna get in the next few months, i might be buying a mystichrome myself. but i gotta admit, that DSG color is one of my favorite, right up there with sonic blue and black.

You can make some good power with the stock blower. There is a guy with an orange 04 that put down 525whp on the stock blower.

I have a friend who has an 03 Redfire cobra that runs magnaflow cb and bassani x and it sounds great. I have the bolra stingers on my gt and I love it. Exhaust really is a sound thing and the performance will pretty much be close with all of them.

KBs are freekin expencive LOL, how can you be paying like 600 a month for JUST the cobra and then go buy a 5k +++ blower?You guys must be rich as crap.And also voiding the warrenty on a freekin brand new car...just dont get it.

600 a month, hmm, i just pay with cash. i personally dont care about a warrenty. if i put on a KB, and i blow up the input shaft on the transmission, then i pull the transmission and i put in a stronger input shaft. if i blow up a halfshaft, i put in a DSS level 10 halfshaft. i think i look at it like that because i can do 99% of all the work on my own, plus i have access to pretty much the whole Snap-On catalog so too accessability is not an issue. my feeling is that if i buy a cobra, its my car and i want to drive it hard and beat on it. that doesnt mean i will take horrible care of it, i just have fun with it. like my buddy with the 04 mystichrome with a kenne bell says, "this is my beater car."
