As for the brakes it depends on how much you want to pay. Baer are very good at a fair price. They also have many options to upgrade as far as you want to go. All of the name brand companys are good but be sure to check their warranty and service.

Baer are overkill and expensive. Wilwood are junk as they always have been. SSBC is the best all around brake kit for a street driven car and the price is fair because you are not paying for bling. With the SSBC all you need is a pad upgrade if you plan on putting the car on the track.

I don't know about headers; for brakes I recommend Baer only because that's what I have and I couldn't be happier with them (haven't pushed them to any kind of limit, but for everyday driving in Miami's idiot traffic, they are confidence inspiring).

I have had great experience with wilwood components. I worked at a place that built big brake kits using only wilwood calipers and they great products. When buying a brake upgrade kit that is not stock make sure the manufacturer is giving you an upgrade. you would be surprised at the amount of company's out there that actually sell kits with a down grade in braking effeicency.

I am currently upgrading to an original style setup COMPLETE for around the price of the wilwood kit. With wilwood and others, you still have to buy hoses, master cylinder, and the proportioning valve.

I mainly wanted to say that an original style setup can be done at a reasonable cost. I am upgrading my front drums to discs as well as replacing the old single resivoir m/s with a dual m/s.

Wilwood does not include the master cylinder, proportioning valve, or brake hoses, so it is more like $800-850 out the door. This may be a good design, but I wanted to stay relatively stock.

Here are the parts i used:

from Autozone:
Manual (no booster) Master Cylinder from 1967: $50 new
Seals/Bearings: $40
Brake calipers from 1967 (7/16 hose fitting): 100pr. + 50pr. core= $150pair
rebuilt but no cores

from Mustangs Plus
Rotors: $160pr.
Pads: $50set for semi-metalics
Stainless Steel front hoses: $75pr.
Pad retaining sheild: $20pr.

from NationalPartsDepot:
Caliper Mount Brackets: $100pr.
Stainless Steel Caliper Cross-over lines: $15pr.
Proportioning Valve: $50

True, but if you buy a complete kit, everything is included...all you need is the brake fluid. My Baer kit had everything I needed for the conversion, including a disc brake master cylinder and proportioning valve.
Very simple install; I did the whole 4 wheel conversion in one day in my garage with basic tools (and the help of two buddies who were well-compensated with beer and bbq ribs).
