I am currently upgrading to an original style setup COMPLETE for around the price of the wilwood kit. With wilwood and others, you still have to buy hoses, master cylinder, and the proportioning valve.
I mainly wanted to say that an original style setup can be done at a reasonable cost. I am upgrading my front drums to discs as well as replacing the old single resivoir m/s with a dual m/s.
Wilwood does not include the master cylinder, proportioning valve, or brake hoses, so it is more like $800-850 out the door. This may be a good design, but I wanted to stay relatively stock.
Here are the parts i used:
from Autozone:
Manual (no booster) Master Cylinder from 1967: $50 new
Seals/Bearings: $40
Brake calipers from 1967 (7/16 hose fitting): 100pr. + 50pr. core= $150pair
rebuilt but no cores
from Mustangs Plus
Rotors: $160pr.
Pads: $50set for semi-metalics
Stainless Steel front hoses: $75pr.
Pad retaining sheild: $20pr.
from NationalPartsDepot:
Caliper Mount Brackets: $100pr.
Stainless Steel Caliper Cross-over lines: $15pr.
Proportioning Valve: $50
