I just upgraded my suspension on my 03 GT this past weekend with Roush lowering springs, shocks, struts, and CC Plates. My question is how rough is the car supposed to ride? I mean I expected a slightly rougher ride with the stiffer suspension but I'm bouncing around like I'm inside a popcorn machine. Is this normal? Do all authentic Roush Stage 3's ride like this?

I have Eibach Sportlines in the front and Roush springs in the rear, and yes, my car rides around like a sled on pavement, even more so after i took out my front isolators.

What shocks and struts did you put in? are they adjustable? if so, you should check out the setting.

Also, if you have low profile tires, it makes it a little bit stiffer than it would be if you had the stock rim/ tire combo. Then, lowering the car with stiffer springs usually amplifies the effect by a little bit as well.

I have Roush Brand Shocks & Struts. I don't know if they are adjustable. I'll have to find out. But if all these aftermarket suspension setups are supposed to be an "UPGRADE" and the side effects seem to be bad ride quality can somebody please convince me why this was a good idea???

 you dont see the benefits?.... reduce body roll/more control through turns/ increased responsiveness and of course looks... to name a few.

its a mustang. its going to be bumpy when you lower it. maybe something could be wrong with the shocks??? dunno. sorry to say, but its not going to feel like an m3 either way.

someone else created a thread about this also a little while ago when they conservativlely lowered their car, but found that it was "too bumpy." Assuming that all the parts you put on the car were in good working condition and that everything was installed (stock or aftermarket isolators and bushings), you're just experiencing what it feels like to drive a lowered ford!

I agree the the lowered stance does make my stang look extra mean :D But for some strange reason the back dropped lower than the front.

when I installed the pro kit on my gt it looked a bit high in front.
after about 3 weeks I guess the front dropped maybe 1 quarter of an inch more
at the most. So I now drive around with no spare or jack in the trunk. This
was just enough to make the car look level and not high in front. But the ride
is not bad at all.

don't know where you live but sounds like you have bad roads. When I was younger and with a different stang I went from stock, to lowered, and then right back....the roads were just too bad, my ride was abusive.

So if you have terrible roads, go back to stock...or move to cali:nice: :D

bouncing like popcorn :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

Thats the way they are supposed to ride!

I love feeling the road but hate the crappy potholes that come from nowhere back in my slammed Camaro. But my Mustang feels alot smoother now and hopefully after my Vogtland and KYB install after I get a break in work and school.

your probably just sensative to a decent suspension... you sure you put the right struts/shocks in there???

ive got an Eibach Prokit and with my Strange Shocks/Struts it rides like ass but launches pretty good.... now when i had stock shocks/struts it rode like glass...

My ride isnt that harsh at all, and handling is 200% better than stock. It certainly shouldn't be bouncy unless your shocks are way too soft.

I have Roush fronts, (dropped a lot more than 1") and H&R SS rears. AGX shocks.

Also my car feels a little sluggish now. Like it drags when I step on the accelarator. Not as quick as it used to be. Could the new suspension be putting a strain somewhere?

No. The drop has nothing to do with the Sluggishness. It is probably the heat. My car is very effected by the temp.

Do you have any sound clips of your exhaust? I have a similar setup, but want to change to the Spintechs or Flomaster 80 series... Let me know.

Thanks,

Matt

As of now no. But I'll try to get one asap (when I get the technology capable of doing so).
