LT's Cat'd Midpipe Questions

Recently I sold a notchback and bought a 94 GT with an AOD-E. I was planning on putting a long tube exhaust setup on it with a cat'd midpipe so I could still pass emissions. I read some where on Corral.Net that if I ended up putting on a cat'd midpipe after a set of long tubes that the cat's would end up "burning out" after time...Furthermore, that it might not pass emissions. Can someone shed some more light on this topic for me, also i'll include pics of the car in a later post, its got 100k mi on it but it is in excellent shape... thanks guys

I have never heard of LT's burning out cat's before. If that were the case than nobody would bother putting cats on if they are going to replace them soon after. Now with time yes just like stock cats age will catch up with them and need replacing but that goes for any part.

I've had them on my car for about two years with no problems. My car is not a daily driver however.
